Dhoni's Retirement
by mallajosyula senior on Nov 10, 2017 12:32 PM

Both VI rat and Ravisastry are criticizing the people who has given a suggestion to replace Dhoni with a younger player and nothing wrong in it. Agarkar or Lakshman were great in their playing days. When do the captain and so called coach has been giving players to take a call on retirement of players on their own. Both of them killed the cricket carrier of Rahul by shuffling his batting position for every match knowing fully well that he is an opener. The nexus of Sastry and Kohli is spoiling the Indian cricket. Playing in Indian conditions and winning is one and that also revealed in the recent series against Newziland.Take the suggestions in the right spirit. If you want Dhoni as a guide to VI rat then create a position. In twenty 20 Dhoni is find wanting and that is for sure

Dhonis Retirement

Cricket is an all round game and a team game. Do not look at one aspect of the game, look the game through all other angles too. Dhoni has never been a technically correct batsman and also he has never been a rash batsman too. He solely depended on his strength and reflexes. With age his reflexes have slowed down. Agreed his batting skills are waning but look at his contributions at the other aspects of the game. He is still the most agile and quickest wicketkeeper around, he definitely saves around 20-30 runs behind the wicket and also gets one or two wickets solely because of his wicket keeping skills. He is an astute reader of the game and best strategist around. He is the fittest guy in the team along with Kohli, nobody can match him when it comes to running between the wickets.
There are 11 players in the team then why only target Dhoni if the team fails, he comes lower down the order when batting conditions normally gets tougher and the asking rate is climbing, a set batsman can play his shots but it will be difficult for a new batsman to start hitting from the word go.It is like you want your car to touch 100km/h speed from cold start immediately after starting it.The batsman's body needs to warm up, he has to access the pitch and the match conditions and his brain has to adapt accordingly. This takes time. I think the so called experts are too harsh in criticising Dhoni because they too are aware of such situations.

Why not blame the middle order which is failing constantly. The Yadavs, Pandeys and even Pandyas are failing constantly. Just that they are younger than Dhoni, you can not say that they will learn in the course of their careers and leave them lightly and put all the blame on Dhoni. The player is selected in the team because the selectors thought he his good at whatever he is selected for, they have not selected the player so that they can learn the game. The player selected for international team is supposed to be completely rounded player, if they want to learn then send them to coaching classes why select them in the team.

Dhoni, the finisher
by Mahadeva swamy on Nov 08, 2017 07:24 PM

Before commenting on Dhoni, one has to understand the timings, target and at what pressure he has piched in to bat in II T20 game. Hardhick got out on the first ball being youngster.. one has to see how many match we won because of Dhoni. If one is pointing out on Dhoni, then why no one in opposition side was able to score such a small score of 68 in III T20 match.. Dhoni is still fit and he should play 2019 world cup...

Dhoni at this age is faster than VVS, Shewag and DADA when they were at the peak of their fitness. After retiring from cricket each of them speak as if they areas fit as ROGER Federer. So keep your silly comments aside and allow Dhoni to pay as per situation demands.

If fitness is only criteria to be selected then we can bring back Mohammad Azharuddin I suppose.

Yes virat is right. Nobody in this universe is 100% everytime. Dhoni has proved his capability and fitness all the time. and even today in the present Indian Team nobody is fit except Virat himself then Dhoni. Whether it is running between wickets or his keeping skills or his cricket brain. World is praising Dhoni and our own old cricketers wants him to retire and join there club of retires.
