he no near the gr88s of modern day era batsman likes of pointing, hayden gilchrist, sachin, lara or sangakara, i have reason for that as a close follower of cricket , virat is lucky to not face gr88 bowlers od medern era like akram younis, mcgrath ambrose walsh, warn, murli, paul strang he is very lucky to plaing in same condition , and noedays pitches all over world behave like subcontinent pitch apart from few here and there, where is perth of upto mid 90's or j'berg even edbegeston or brisbrain, any one who have seen the 1996 capetown test it was horror for batsman, and that pitch sacinn and azhar has a glorious memorable 100 south africa won that test match but these two batsmab won the heart of the south african cricket fans those were the pitches where only quality batsman survive

yes, surely, that match i can never forget, sachin and azhar's memorable innings, against fierce some donald, pollock, fan e de villiars, mcmillan, klusner, kohli just can't imagine that..... i also agree with you, nowadays pitches all over the world is batsman friendly, perth, durban what was in the 90s now is like feroz shah kotla pitch almost, and virat is playing mainly on indian pitches with specially broadfaced bats nowadys, where you didn't require to step out for a six you just stand and deliver rest the bat will help you out. So, cricket's popularity is decresing since the fight between bat and ball no longer exist. We can never imagine in the early days that hard hitter like Kapil Dev hitting sixes on cover drive, those days batsman could harldy score fours in off cover drives.......

md amir, junaid is a nothing bowler, kholi dhoni in his days can even hit them one handed, you can ask kohli to face bumrah then that can be a challenging tusk for him. Even harbhajan hitted amir one hand six to win a asia cup title two years ago. India infact does a mercy on pakistan and helped them to win at aisa cup final.Otherwise this pakistan team is a mediocre team.

So going by ur logic, Sachin and the likes did not face the west indian greats and so on. Other batsmen around the world currently are also facing the same bowlers and same conditions.

if i compare 70's 80's and 90's cricket without a single thought, i will say 90's was the most exiting decade for cricket lot of bowling variation and class batsman with lot of bounces swing and turning track 70's was very close to 90's, 80's was in changing phase and now days u only have to run and throw a bowl with legal action yorker incutter outcuter inswing outswing all these are missing nowdays I DONT REMEMBER ANY QUALITY BOWLER NOWDAYS
