At present no one can replace Dhoni. He is such a Great Cricketer and Sportsman. Just because he does not score runs like he used to does not mean he should not be persisted with. A wonderful wicket-keeper, a cool and level headed person who is always ready to guide youngsters and also give advice and support to them and one person on whom Virat can always rely on for expert advice. Stop criticising MSD please.
India should persist with MSD for the 2019 Cup.As he has huge value to offer and add to the team's performance in the 50 overs game. He should prepare Dinesh as his replacement meanwhile ,post-2019 for the 50 overs format to take on the gloves post his retirement.India should also see if he is still good enough for the 20 Overs game.Cause as on today, he needs a bit of time to settle and also his strike rate over the last 12 months or so is more exciting and relevant today for the 50 overs format, than for the 20 overs format.
You should not pop up idea's like this. It will be suicidal for Indian cricket. Such a versatile game changer he is. There should not be any doubt on anybody's mind about this genius legend. First of all , criticizers on discussion board must develop the habit to analyse a player properly . And unfortunately here many lacks that skill . They are unable to judge a player , who is good or who is bad , or who adds value to the team etc - - They only know one thing , ie to SIMPLY CRITICIZE .
MSD is absolutely versatile player . His
experience , cricketing brain , fitness is
still phenominal . Looks at his reflexes during
stumpings at lighting speed . Other players
in top order plays fearlessly & performs
because they know MSD is there in middle
order if anything goes wrong .
EVEN HALF FIT OR BIT OUT OF FORM MSD IS USEFUL THAN MANY OTHER PLAYERS .
First of all please be noted that no one indispensable in the sphere of life. Greats come, perform and retire and at one point of time very few will be remembered by people who are greatest greats. Dhoni in fact was very fortunate to find his place in Indian cricket team as wicket keeper as the then captain Ganguly picked him up and dhoni clicked right from go. Yes, he was definitely hard hitting batsman who scored lot. But his wicket keeping was always doubtful because of his stiff figure. Fans will say that he took hundreds of catches and made stumpings through out his carrier.But may i know, how many matches he played during his carrier? Clearly he is no more fit and managing wicket keeping in a lazy manner. Impartially it should be judged. Look and watch when the ball kept low he use his pads instead of gloves. It is true he has many catches (that is main duty of wicket keeper) but should also count how simple and tough catches and stumping he missed? No captain is required any advise from any one of the team. It is a very unusual appeasement for dhoni mainly by his fans. Selectors have selected the captain based on his capability. They never knew or expected that cool dhoni will come and guide indian captain. This is not cricket. Wriddhiman saha is much more cool than dhoni and can bat prudently. And Saha's reflex and smooth gloving are really unexpected from dhoni. So dhoni must go and wriddhiman should come in. thank you.
