BCCI Vs ICC and COA
by PN Suresh on May 05, 2017 11:42 AM

COA has no role and is not the appropriate body to run cricket. In 2014 ICC has agreed for a Revenue share and India contributes Lion's share in ICC Revenues. Shshank Manohar got into ICC thro BCCI and later sabotaged BCCI interests in getting himself elected as ICC Chairman. If Champions Trophy is important, ICC could have very well postponed Revenue Share matters after 2 months as suggested by BCCI. Why are they hurriedly breach existing MPA and bring something new, where we lose more than 50%
COA has no role and their Job is to ensure Basic Financial discipline and accountability systems in place. What experience COA members have in promoting Cricket or getting Revenues to Cricket Board. They are acting like agents of ICC. Secondly if curbing corruption or enhancing Financial Discipline are the goals for COA where is the necessity for Age Cap etc. I am not a lawyer and legal experts should clarify if Courts can appoint Panels to run a Sport or a Society or even a Public Limited company where Public interest and money is involved, why not they run Mallaya empire, generate revenues and repay loans or run Olympic Association of India, where there were corruption charges or some Badminton or Volley Ball Associations. COA should stop Hand twisting BCCI and we should put pressure on ICC and BCCI is going in the right direction. After 3-4 years of following BCCI cases, there is not even a single charge of corruption on any office bearers of BCCI except betting as per Lodha Repor

COA IS FOR EFFECTING LODHA REFORM NOT FOR RUNNING BCCI
by damodaran mohan on May 04, 2017 06:34 PM  | Hide replies

COA has been put in place by SC primarily for effecting the change over of BCCI team and not for running the BCCI.Initially COA had to take certain administrative and financial decisions as certain members were disqualified by Lodha criteria. However members like Pawar,Srini...who do not meet Lodha criteria are out and the current members in BCCI or state Assn are not disqualified but waiting to be replaced by new team after election to be overseen by COA.Meanwhile the existing team both in BCCI or in state Assn who are not disqualified can certainly carry out day-to-day functions or deal with ICC more effectively given their long experience. So it is only proper that COA leaves the dealing with ICC to BCCI for taking decisions they know best.COA is not only new in the field but SC has not given them the role to run the BCCI.Given this background COA should confine themselves to their role of changeover and no more.

COA Diktats are unreasonable
by Prasad Salelkar on May 04, 2017 05:50 PM

Certainly , It's an irony that BCCI finances world cricket and COA advises them to accept peanuts from ICC !! Strange indeed !! It seems the COA has plenty of time & no other work to do. Former CJI had protested about understaffed courts & huge pile-up of cases. Tarik pe tarik...Aam aadmi perenially waiting for justice..On other hand they have all the time to give advice on every small issue related to a sports body. Strange indeed !! Complete lack of priorities.

I have a feeling first time that COA and Shashank Manohar were bribed by ICC and other boards.

COA is crossing it's limits and interfering BCCI's affairs

Courts interfering in unnecessary things instead of looking into heavy backlog of pending cases.
