I think more than the revelation of Jadeja, Umesh & Kuldip it is Ajinkya Rahane as a captain. He is not the overtly aggressive, dominating type like Kohli but quietly goes about his job encouraging the team to give their best. Kohli of course would have had an influence on the way this match panned out but Rahane had to take the crucial decisions on the field. I think his calm & composed demeanor compared to Kohli's hyperactive demonstrations settled things for India at a crucial stage. He backed his bowlers & the only mistake I think was moving himself to mid off when Wade was batting & putting a useless inflexible Ashwin in the slips who dropped him & allowed the Aussies to add 6 more runs. Rahane must get back the form he had earlier & that will cement his place.

Jadeja is the best allrounder in India today although some prepared statistics are there for aaswin who is nowhere near him. Why are the selectors persisting with karun nair - some godfather probably!

Jadeja is no match for Ashwin. Statistics don't lie nor they can be manipulated. I know you dislike Ashwin and so never credit him for his success.

Karun Nair's test career is almost over for sure at least in the short run. He is a pathetic fielder which just makes it worse for him. He has been a monumental failure in this series & Shreyas Iyer should have been tried in his place. Nair was lucky to be considered for the 4th Test but this is the end of the road for him. He has to go back to domestic cricket & improve his skills.
