ENSURING INTEGRITY OF THE "PROCESS" SACROSANCT

No one would disagree that the trio of Sachin, Saurav and Laxman are one of the best if not the best qualified team to select the coach for team India. However for any institution the 'process' is the most important part which only can bring credibility for acceptance of the result of selection of the next Coach for team India preparing for WC 2019. In the background of the recent related bad publicity of coach Kumble episode the integrity of the “process” assumes all the more importance. Evidently the CAC must have drawn up the related criteria like stature, skills both the cricketing as well as man management, achievements, reputation, overall personality, sports qualification etc. and perhaps all the candidates will be required to submit their CVs on these aspects. But their suitability can only be judged through a face to face interview by all three together on all the claims the candidates make in their CVs? Given these requirement will it be acceptable for a candidate to present himself wearing a swimming trunk sipping beer on a beach resort in Tasmanian Island on Skype to the CAC sitting in Kolkatta or Mumbai ? Believe it or not such incredulous process including absence of one CAC member during interview were reported last time around! Doesn’t it make a mockery of the entire process? (contd.)..selecting an overbearing person too could create problems of IPR. I think most important aspect however must be the person they select is of stature and a competent man manager who would enjoy respect of the Captain and the entire team. Further, perhaps each of the candidates must be asked to make a presentation of road map of team India win in WC 2019 too!

If Ganguli chose Ravi again means there is no value for these guys mainly ganguli who rejected shastri last time. Also it looks like bowed down to kohli. Ganguli himself proved he is not steady in his stand. Ganguli should shastri again.

Coach
by on Jul 01, 2017 10:43 AM  | Hide replies

I think Kumble was the best coach for indian Cricket team, but due to difference between Kumble and Captain kumble removed from coach position. Remember kumble was lone person in the india who has a lot of respect from ICC. Its a very shamefull situation that nobody from BCCI had put forward to stop this incident.

I know whoever come for Coach postion, he will not going to stay for a longer time.

He is not someone who has come from Midnapore district of Bengal
by Rohan Maiti on Jul 01, 2017 02:19 AM  | Hide replies

What did dada mean by "He is not someone who has come from Midnapore district of West Bengal". It shows his academic intelligence level. Midnapore produced enough talent including:

Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, social activist.
Ashok Dinda, Cricketer (and also Amit Kuila now in Bengal team)
Dev (born Deepak Adhikari, Bengal film star
Rajnarayan Basu, writer and proponent of Young Bengal movement.
Hemchandra Kanungo, revolutionary.
Khudiram Bose, revolutionary.
Matangini Hazra, freedom fighter.
Birendranath Sasmal, social activist.
Satish Chandra Samanta, social activist.

List is long. Tried to mix with old and new folks.

Why select Shastri just bcas Kohli wants him. If that be the case, we don't need this three member committee.

If Sewag is selected based on two lines resume, it will be another wonder of decision making.
An ordinary cricket follower will be surprised. Only Kholi and Sewag will be nothing truth of it.
