Let Shastri show his skill as a fielder by fielding on long on or cover for half an hour, bat against Indian cricket team's best bowlers, Bowl against Indian Batsman etc. India dont need a liason officer who can maintain relations of the players and the board and continue getting fat remuneration, perks and position without deserving it. To be a coach, one has to command respect from the players and unless you show them your superiority you can not command any respect from them.
Recent shameful activities of Big Boss Kohli has amply proved what is required in would-be coach for Indian Senior Cricket Team is that he should be ready to accept every whims of Kohli. He need not have previous experience in Cricket or cricketing brain since he will have to not have any time for cricket because he will be busy in pleasing Kohli & Boss Kohli will dictate the terms of the team.Whether the team shows disastrous performance or senior players including Kohli are unable to score in the field he will have to be full of praises for Kohli otherwise he will have to go like Kumble.Hence, any one even an engineer can fill the slot.Of course, recent years have proved that Ravi Shastri is the best choice for the post of Coach since he is ready to fulfill every whims of Kholi and for this reason only Boss Kholi is eagerly waiting for Shastri. All these dramas(Engineered by Shastri himself) were done to remove Kumble and bring back Shastri as Coach of Indian Cricket team.

Saurav Ganguli will never select Shastri as a coach. last time he remain absent at the time of coach selection just to stop Shastri becoming coach of Indian team.
