A centuray against weak WI team that lost even to Afghanistan is not at all an achievement. His overall career average and strike rates are below par for a top order batsmen, but he can do the job when main openers are not available or injured.
There are much better reserve opener for ODI format in India like L.Rahul, A.Mukund etc. Lokesh Rahul is best among them. Scoring a hundred against WI week bowling lineup is not a big deal. Rahane is technically good but doesn't fit in ODI format. His list A matches record in not impressive.
