Team selection by coach for final would have got a win for India
by murthy cs on Jun 22, 2017 03:51 PM

Looking back History tells us team batting 2nd will be under severe pressure. selection of team also bad.
umesh and dinesh karthik shd have been played for Ashwin and Nair. If Captain does not listen to Coach
appears to have been casual for final and deliberately no efforts win. Had they won everybody would have asked Kumble to stay. it was a strategy to eliminate Kumble.

An example of BCCI's clandestine activities
by on Jun 22, 2017 03:31 PM

The news of Kumble seeking pay revision and Kohli also supporting the same has suddenly disappeared. How conveniently BCCI created conditions to dump Kumble and Kohli also made look like a villain. The most interesting is no news agency is asking the question also.

Everything looks fishy
by gururaj upadhyaya on Jun 22, 2017 01:05 PM

This whole dispute between Kumble and Kohli is being given undue importance to hide the misdeeds of former BCCI heads who still want to exercise their power but cant because there is Supreme Court appointed committee. These former heads want the members of Supreme Court appointed committee to resign one by one, taking the blame for lack of performance of the cricket team in the upcoming tours of the Indian team. These old bosses have made some players (current and former) party/ beneficiaries to their 'dealings'. Mr. Guha (part of SC appointed committee) already has resigned citing some reasons, some others also will resign. Both Kumble and CAC members played it safe by taking the actions that they have. India may see better coaches, but anymore a former player with 'honest' reputation will think twice before becoming India's coach.

Kumble-Kohli communication had stopped six months ago
by Vijay Kirti on Jun 22, 2017 11:59 AM

star Power is not new and neither it is completely wrong.earlier we had super stars like Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, sahwag etc. in this generation we have Virat Kohli. Then with whom should we side with?If Kohli is sacked then will Kumble play in his place? As the answer is in negative we must support the present star and not Coach. We had coach like Greg Chappel who completely destroyed the team of the day and finished the career of player like Irfan Pathan. In coach we require a sublime personality like Kersten and not dominating person like Kumble. This lack of communication too must have been cause of this humiliating defeat in the Champion cup.

Kumble Kohli
by shuja shakir on Jun 22, 2017 11:00 AM

That Players have overgrown their stature is nothing new. This had happened earlier too when Greg Chappell was the coach of Team India. Player-coach discord might have had a long history. Only reason it is coming to light these days is overenthusiastic media. Kumble is a good coach and a balanced personality no doubt and Kohli a good player and an excellent human being. it is unfortunate they couldn't walk together..!

Who stopped communication, no doubt arrogant kohali
by avinash kumar on Jun 22, 2017 10:53 AM  | Hide replies

Supreme court should entered on this and kohali should be send to tihaad for 1 month in view of deliberately loosing final with intention of not making kumble as most successful coach unable to grant automatically extension of further 3 years

Totally agree with you. Arrogance was the downfall in the finals.

sack virat as captain and voluntary retirement to dhoni & yuv
by vijay Pargonda on Jun 22, 2017 10:35 AM  | Hide replies

Kohli is an exceptionally very good consistent player but not a leader to lead the indian team. Dhoni and yuvraj should not wait to sack them from bcci instead should take voluntary retirement

I am totally with Kohli on this.In cricket captain is more imp than coach,It is not football where strategy is there. Also it is Kohli and his team which has given India laurels. You are all asumimg that it is Kumble who has given India laurels.Kumble has a role as a coach .definitely.But actual work done on foeld by Kohli and company.

Kohli should be rested for a while. Let his brain cool down. Let him do Yog meditation and light gym exercise. he should be fresh for SA tour.

Winning strategy
by satya dash on Jun 22, 2017 10:24 AM  | Hide replies

Problem lies with superstar status of i dividuals. A coach generally has dispassionate views on final 11 and strategy for the match which a captain may feel encroaching in his area.
In the final of Champions trophy or even the semi final India was found short of one pace attack. 3 genuine pace attack and 2 spinners who can bat well like jadeja and ashwin is the right balanced wining combination. Including one extra batsman like kedar jedhav is hardly useful. Any can fill the part timer role- like yuvraj, dhoni or even Kohli. So why sacrifice an useful pace spearhead like Umesh or Mohd. Sami. One cannot expect bhubhuneswar kumar or jaspreet to be immaculate and grab the wickets of openers in all the matches.
