The decision to bat second was of course the decisive factor!

Virat did not learn from the mistakes that Azharuddin made in Kolkata or Sourav Ganguly made in the World Cup final against Aussies. With the advantage of hindsight, one can of course say that India could have made 450 batting first and batted Pakistan out of the game.

Yes.He even did not know this thing that we won first match batting first against Pakistan,Pakistan bowling was dangoerous aamir, junaid in front of this attack chasing 300 in a final of icc event is always going to be tough. And we did not have sachin sehwag like openers who will take the attack on them, neither there was a proper batsman at 7

Decision to bowl in the Final match is 100% wrong,If were chasers not a single batsman showed to stay at the wicket.Further, it is always the fact that when a team scores more than 300 in the final match, team batting second always succumb to the pressure. Rarely won chasing 300 in the FINAL. Further, what is our strength BATTING/BOWLING/FIELDING? Of course it is Batting, then we should have batted first.e.g. in the exam we always opt for easy question.

I agree. You just cannot put opposition into bat every time you win the toss. Ind-Pak final was not a league game or bi-lateral series game where one may chase. Even India's decision to field first against SA and Bangla Desh would have backfired had there not been a suicidal run-outs of AB D'livers and Miller (v/s SA) and middle order "harakiri" on the part of set Bangla Desh batsmen. Coming back to final, all factors were favourable for India to bat first - bright sunshine, lovely weather, flat & docile pitch, in-form top batting order and inexperienced Pak batting line-up. Still India put the opposition into bat. To compound the matter, Bumrah bowled the worst opening spell and Amir bowled perhaps the best opening spell seen in the entire tournament!

It is a great loss for Indian Cricket that a nice, thoroughly professional, learned & dedicated coach could not continue as a coach due to noncooperation of the captain.Present captain must be asked to step down.
