@ Mr Datta : Now you can realize why Pakistanis hate India so much. Product of Madrassas and all their hate-spewing text books. And we have elites like Mani Shankar Aiyar, Sudheendra Kulkarni and scores of Lutyens' Delhiites who wish to resolve issues through dialogue. They cannot hear or see anything positive in India. Why would they accept any positive overtures. The nation has been unable to get over the 1971 dismemberment of East Pakistan and they would roar in delight, even if they can damage India in any sport, let alone in a battle.

No Surprise at all!
by Venkatesa Prabhu on Jun 19, 2017 03:28 PM  | Hide replies

Lots of Indians have cheered Pakistan's victory including the secular Ms Barkha Dutt. According to them, it is just a game. But the Pakistan Army considers it differently. Who is right? And who is wrong? Rediff may just delete this post.

I SAW INDIANS FROM ALL RELIGIONS HAPPY WITH THE VICTORY OF PAKISTAN AND EVEN KOHLI WAS VERY HAPPY SUPPORTING PAKISTAN ALL THE WAY. MAY HIS WISH TO BECOME CAPTAIN OF PAKISTAN BE TRUE ONE DAY AND HE REALLY DESERVES IT. KOHLI WAS THE MOST SUPPORTIVE OF PAKISTAN. EVERYONE SAID SUCH A SMALL COUNTRY FIGHTING AGAINST ALL ODDS TO SURVIVE AS A COUNTRY IS GREAT ACHIEVEMENT.

@ Newa : This is the most confused post I have seen on this subject. In a game of cricket, where does a small country and odds to survive come? Kohli may be large-hearted but for several others passionate about a game, a loss is very unacceptable. In families, especially in the game of tennis, I have seen father supporting Federer and son supporting Nadal and in tough matches, there has been furious outbursts at home.

IPL paper tigers

BCCI Pvt Ltd IPL paper tigers many not necessarily deliver in international matches on international venues against top class international teams. They reached finals but they were lucky except for tough south Africa they got weaker teams to play and did not face Australia, England, new Zealand on rampage

@ Mr Shaikh : Most Indians have forgotten the series of defeats by Indian cricket team at the hands of Pakistan in SHARJAH. It is another matter that several cricketing pundits gave no further thought to these wins, thanks to the efforts of Asif Iqbal and his aides.

POOR PAKIS !
by KRISHNAMURTHY V on Jun 19, 2017 03:07 PM

The Pakis have failed miserable in anything in the past few years, be it in its army's (read terrorists as proxy) or in games or in the economic criteria. And so when that rarity happened, the immature Pakis, including its army, couldn't control themselves
