i suuport u r view. He is the perfect coach. BCCI should give opertunities to KapilDev and Dhoni who played for contry, unlike Sachin Ganguly and VVS
he had tiffs with Dhoni in Kanpur when he claime that Dhoni is just a stand in captain and Kuble is the real boss, to whcich Dhoni replied as to there is no stand in captain

Dhoni is playing to the likes of Kohli to keep him in the playing 11. The context in which Kumble made such comment is left to imagination of the people and there is no reason to believe indeed Kumble's intent was what you claimed above. Kumble by far best Indian coach in Indian cricket.
As a coach he should be given responsibility of team to make sure that the team performs well i.e. each individual performs well in his specialist areas & also in planning the team strategy alongwith the captain. It's true that the captain should not be given free hand to dictate terms & coach is mere teacher which will put extra burden on the player himself who is captaining & may hamper his own game in the process.

No way. Finally, Coach is an arrangement BCCI has done to accommodate retired players for their well being, even after their retirement from the game. They will talk a lot, but finally Captain has to deliver. he has to face inclusion or omission of players, change the strategy on field and what not. He face the brick bats, so also credit. He must be the boss.
I totally disagree. Their is a large difference between Football coach and cricket coach, Football is played for 90 minutes .Cricket is one day/5 days. In football all 11 players are contineously playing to the full potential.Not so in cricket.Football captian being also a player who is running on field dorsnot have time or view to plan things.He can not view the performance of the players .IN CRICKET THINGS ARE DIFF. Actually the player who is a wicketkeeper or in slips has ample time peace and view to aim plan think and strategise.

Further i think that this support for Kumble is coming from a typical Indian mentality.This coach is supreme is quentessentially indian.It has come from our beurocratic mentality. Like on field the soldiers fight but who gets the accolades the Major General. Police inspector catches thief and controls riots and the DSP who is not even present at the occasion is the Hero.Also Dronacharys is hero evn though Ekalavya just learned from his picture/Statue.This typical Indian mentality.Guru Shishya and what not.
What is coach's contribution. Just to give peace of information about what to do, how to do, etc.,etc.,. Finally, its Captain's team. He gets brick bats, so the credit also must be . Captain should be a final boss.
I agree with Mr.sudhir. BCCI should define the role of coach clearly and existing captain has no options other than to adhere. Communication is the key word here between captain and coach.
