It happened with small timers as well. I was in Tellicherry when I watched a match between Andhra and Kerala. It was a Ranji match between Kerala and Andhra, It was led by its wicket keeper captain. can anybody forget how he kept dravid in the odi team at the expense of a regular wicket keeper? dravid who was a great test player was not regarded highly as a odi player....when pressure began to mount on ganguly to drop dravid from odis what trick did he use? he destroyed the career of a wicket keeper and made dravid to keep wickets...to keep him in the odi team...

do you know how was trying to force vvs laxman to open the innings in tests? laxman showed the courage to say no to ganguly...otherwise it was end for vvs laxman test career...

do you know that though ganguly made a successful opener of sehwag...sehwag publicly said that kumble is the best captain he played under and also made the statement that he thought he would have been more successful down the order...
