Retirement of MSD
by mansoor baig on Jan 06, 2017 01:53 AM

MSD retiring from the game would have created a little bit of void but the memory of players and people is very short they will move forward and that is what the beauty of this game and life is all about.

I don't feel Dhoni was such a Great Player

Yes, initially The Young, Long Haired wicket Keeper who played for India - Scored 183 vs Sri Lanka & 148 vs Pakistan was My Favourite Indian Wicket Keeper at that point.

But He Lost my Respect for him, because he Practiced The Worst Kind of Politics Ever seen in Indian Cricket team and ousted Seniors like Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Anil Kumble, Gautam Gambhir, a Young Parthiv Patel & also Zaheer Khan later.

So Almost The Entire Indian Team got sacked (Except Sachin Tendulkar = Because of His Records & Reputation BCCI decided to save his career so he was spared.)

Winning the 2011 World Cup in India is Not an Achievement at all - Since it was Won on Home pitches with Home advantage.

His Test World No. 1 Ranking & Test Mace also were obtained on "Home Doctored Pitches" - Just like Virat Kohli had and that also is Not a Good thing to Brag about.

Why we need to Remember him was the way he Won 2007 World T20 & an ICC Knockout Championship in England & Winning IPL Tournaments for CSK - Apart from that I did not see Anything Special from him or his captaincy.

And Why is Sunil Gavaskar, a Respected Indian Senior Cricketer Saying like this ????

As Dhoni himself said - He would make way for a Youngster - He has Done his Job and only if He had Completely Retired from Cricket there should have been something said - He is Over 35 Years Now, so Better Late than Never to Quit - Probably he Felt India wo

Probably MSD Knew that India will Lose The 2019 World Cup in England - So he wanted to Resign from Captaining India into another World Cup defeat.

Well Never Mind, So Many Glorious Cricketers have Left & MSD also needs to move on.

Dhoni step down from Captaincy
by SRINIVASAN VENKATES on Jan 05, 2017 04:26 PM

It is a good decision but taken at wrong time. Sunil Gavaskar simply comments but do not know anything about Dhoni's statistics. India lost 2015 Tri Series in Australia. Lost the World Cup 2015 & also lost the series continuously to Bangladesh in Bangladesh, SA in India, Australia in Australia, T20Wcup. Not only that Dhoni could not able to finish the game in the final overs. Struggled to score 11 runs in final over against SA, and also 12 runs in final over against Zimbabwe in T20, & thrown his wicket away against Australia when India needs 13 runs to win in Final over, then Manish Pandey scored the winning runs. Finally he has done the good thing by announcing to step down as captain. Another good thing he has to do is retire from all forms of cricket, so that Young wicket keepers like Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson or Ishant Kishan should get the chance. Even Aditya Tare can be chosen. All these players are good in one day & T20. With this young team Kohli is capable of winning CT 2017 & England series.

No body is indispensable. Your leaving did not create a vacuum in Indian cricket but created better players & more. So also id Dhoni leaves heaven is not going to fall on Indian Cricket but there will be umpteen players who will become more popular & savior of Indian cricket

...If Dhoni Had Quit Playing, You Would Have Said:

"I Am Happy That He Has Decided To Quit And Respect His Decision"
