Absolutely true buddy . It is clear to him that his bosses are no longer running the show.So good thinking on his part to step down . Anyway thanks for leading the team to a successful unit . As for someone mentioning that he was the greatest keeper India has produced, i completely disagree with it.

He is no doubt the best Indian wicket keeper ever produced. It's his batting prowess plus his keeping abilities and good cricketing brain has made him the player to reckon with. His powerful batting with cool head was admired by his opponents. It is he who made the tail enders stronger and on several ocassions have finished the matches on his own and while doing so has created a record of remaining not out and scoring the winning run. What more you expect from a wicket keeper like him . In his absence a void will be formed difficult to be replaced with.
Dhone did his best, what more can you expect, there were many senior players when he was captain, like Sachin, Sehwag etc, though he had some problems he served well, he did his best, people talk of Parthiv/Saha but still they dont have the speed of Dhoni, you can see the number of catches dropped by them. We will miss his captaincy.

Dhoni was a great WK batsman. Remember his innings (century)in Pakistan & against SA. Once IPL happened he got spoiled.

Even Dinesh Karthik. Both Parthiv & Karthik were sidelined as they were much better international batsmen.

None of saha or parthiv will be in odi n t-20 once dhoni retires it will be rishabh pant and someone said about dhoni and parthiv overseas record dhoni bats at num 6 or 7 yet his average is over 50 after so many matches yes he has not scored an odi ton outside subcontinent but i remember atleast five innings in australia england and sa where india won the match and dhoni remained notout on 80s and 90s....

Instead I would support captainship to be rotated among all players. In that case, every match will have new Indian captain. After 11 matches, we can have new set of players. :-)

Indian cricket has survived Azhar, Jadej and Mongia and Srinivasan and son-in-law. It is in safe hands.
If he had resigned his captaincy in support of BCCI then he should not be selected in the playing 11 for the future matches. Earlier he had strong nexus with shridharan now the current president.
