It will take some time for our cricketers new to DRS to optimize the use of DRS.The use of DRS by itself is a learning process from every mistake committed. The onus is on Captain to get them right and be judicious.Virat has been found wanting and is still learning.The basics:1.after introduction of DRS the standard of umpiring has improved by several notches and are fairly accurate so keep more faith on field umpire more than before.2.use more as exception than as rule only when one is very sure as showing more confidence in umpiring will be more helpful.Conversely if DRS is seen to be taken for even apparently good decisions showing lack of confidence in umpire then the side could lose umpire's sympathy and could go against it after DRS are exhausted.3.For batting side keep it till the best batters with the batter on the non-striking end giving imp. input on LBWs and take as far as possible to 80th over.4. for bowling side WK and close in fielder will have to play important role and Capt. has to take final decision in consultation but give min. hearing to the bowler who is invariably biased. 5. The ludicrous looking 'umpires' call retention rule must be kept in mind for DRS when spinners are operating or on bouncy tracks etc.6. After every innings evaluate.

Our players- cricket have to understand the concept of DRS.DRS is to be used to benefit the Team and its achievements to the fullest.The batsmen have to keep in mind that DRS is a great and scarce resource and is to be used keeping in mind the copmlete innings.
