Already our idiots have prepared a turning pitch. It shows we depend on pitch support to win.

THE VISITING SIDE LOOKS VERY UNAUSTRALIAN INDEED

(contd.)The long batting affords luxury of 5 bowlers too for taking 20 wkts! Combo? Although 2 pacers and 3 spinners on Indian conditions look more logical but question is can just 2 pacers combine effectively? I think 3 pacers increases their effectiveness however on slow turning tracks, may at Ranchi 3 spinners could be better option. One thing for sure is that should Ashwin click then it will be easy wins--walk in the park as seen in the recent series. However without that it could be a bit of struggle but considering that Jadeja and the pacers too are bowling well India should still win. That’s why Virat & co. should be ready with plan B for such eventualities. It is better that ground staff prepare good pitches with some assistance for spinners from 3rd days onwards. First match at Pune will be important.Hope with Ajai Shirke and his Commercial manager too gone the boundaries too will be larger to be helpful for the spinners to flight the ball.

THE VISITING SIDE LOOKS VERY UNAUSTRALIAN OF PAST INDEED
by damodaran mohan on Feb 21, 2017 06:24 PM

The Aussies know well for sure they are not the past best or unbeatable side any more having tasted series of humiliating defeats at home and outside.Even their threat of \'sledging\' tactics too need to be taken with a pinch of salt as this side looks not even half as good at it as the earlier ones led by say, Ponting ? The circumspect David Warner anyway gives it away that they are far from being as well versed in the art as the usual past Aus side. Further, it could be also opportunity for Virat to hone his captaincy skill of controlling his aggression of early days. Series result Best way to predict could be to compare with the last English series . They faced 4-0 humiliating series loss although look much better side comparatively with long batting line up and played good cricket too! The kangaroos batting in comparison looks thin and inexperienced except for Smith and Warner and no way could pile up 400 plus runs like the English did. Bowling? Looks better on paper at-least but on Indian conditions might not be that effective. M/Starc returning after injury looked a pale shadow of his old self during the Pak series although Hazelwood did look to have better accuracy, control on line and length etc. Spinners as a rule can no way be rated better than the Indians. That brings us to rate the Indian camp. The opening, the M.O.and even the longish lower order looks much more solid not just dependent on Virat although he will be the main match winner.
