Every era presented a different challenge
by Manohar Rao on Feb 14, 2017 11:13 PM

It was bodyline during Bradman's time, it was fierce fast bowling with minimum protection during Gavaskar's time. It was bad and deliberate umpiring during Sachin's time. And guess what is the challenge in the present day time? Too much cricket, too little rest and lot of computer analysis against each batsman or bowler. The game of cricket has become more like a chess game because of such indept analysis available on each player.
Hence it is really unfair to compare players from different eras and demean their achievements.
I hope people who are insulting Sachin or Virat or even Gavaskar got their answer.Anyhow, most of the Indians have bad mentality to demean their heroes (both men and women) and it can not be corrected by posting such messages, it will take generations to correct such deep rooted anomaly.

Not the class of older genre
by Formula Racing Fan on Feb 11, 2017 10:39 PM

Please do not compare with Don or anyone who has played 15 years ago. Virat is nowhere near ( forget eclipsing and all ) the class of those players. And the bowlers they played against and the protectives they had and with no limit on bouncers, bodyline etc., Kohli is just exaggerated by his media managers. Don is Don, Kapil is Kapil and Kohli is Kohli. Let them remain like that only. Don't unnecessarily try to demean the greats of cricket.
