Looks Impossible but never

A'Cook is 32 now. By passing of time, his vision and flexes will tend to diminish and being an opener, he will definitely need extra energy for another 5K runs at an average of 1K test runs per year. Any how, as a sports national, we wish him good luck.

HE HAS GOOD CHANCE

He is still young and left more cricket. Now the captaincy burden is gone, & if he perform consistently, he can remain in the team at least for 5 years from. He can achieve a lot. All the best. Good Cricketer.

If ECB Retain him for that long .....

Sachin Tendulkar played Test Cricket for a Very Long time and Sachin was also Good enough to Last so long - BCCI also gave him The Opportunity to Decide when he would quit and Sachin played for 24 Long Years breaking Many records.

If Somebody like Alastair Cook is also given such a Huge Extension & ECB allow him to play till he reaches 40 - He can probably comfortably break Sachin's Tally of 15,921 Runs quite easily.

But looking at the Careers of Jonathan Trott, Ian Bell, Graeme Swann, Andrew Strauss and other English Cricketers - I don't feel ECB might allow him to play for too long.

Either the Players themselves volunteer to Retire, or they get Terminated by ECB - Most English Cricketers wind up by the time they turn 35 to 38 years old.

Cook is an opener - most of the matches are played in England and out side in countries like SA,Australia and NZ .all these places bowlers have a better chance than India . India Indian players are used to the spin friendly pitches from child hood .Next the players in other parts of the world play for winning not for accumulating records .When Dravid declared see how much hue and cry was made . I have not seen how matches ST won with major contributions inTests and ODIs and more so out side India . The best in last 30 yeras undoubtedly the SA allrounder Jack Kallis - can any one match his contribution with bat , ball and catching - just look at the figures

jack kallis and kumara sangakara are truly great ! i don't think anyone else can come upto their level because besides the runs they scored they were too good in one more area (bowling -JK, wicket keeping KS).

PLEASE DO. We want to show how average cricketers can pile up runs without contributing significant role in winning or match saving.

Well said bro. We find such fools around us, who might not have achieved anything in their lives but criticizes someone who is successful.

In life you need not do many things to understand , there are many who have not had opportunities in life -forget sports . I have seen many more talented who withered away . We are not ready to accept others views and any criticism of these so called icons is not taken as a view of others . Can you analyse his scores in 20 teats and see how it was in the last three twenties .You may use any amount of bad language - does it matter - even for me ST is not even very good - he might have accumulated many runs

You want to say film critics and jury should make a film before criticizing or giving award?
