Ashwin is in the mould of Dravid. Years back when Dravid's place in the Indian ODI team was not certain; he went to play county cricket for Kent. There he honed the skills of one day batting and thus becoming a regular in the Indian ODI side.
Similarly Ashwin wants to be a bowler who can take wickets in English conditions. His detractors point out that he is a force only on subcontinent wickets. This is a challenge he has taken to better his skills so that he can prove to be a world class spinner by the next time India tour England in 2018.
