it is always a South Indian who gets it
by devegowda mohan on Aug 11, 2017 09:54 AM

when it was officially done by a party spokesperson, then you cannot expect a better deal. All North Indians think they are all Aryan origin and abuse south Indians. it is unfortunate we have to listen.

Discrimination is Quite Common in India - Everyone gets Mocked at
by himamshu on Aug 10, 2017 05:14 PM  | Hide replies

Racism, Casteism, Discrimination based on Looks, Fair or Dark, Thin or Fat, Short or Tall, Education Centric Discrimination - Marks, Grades, Percentage obtained, Degree Studied, whether Engineer, Doctor, MBA, IIM, IIT, CAT GRE etc etc, Regional & Linguistic, Language Discrimination, so many Parameters & Lots of types of Discrimination and Grading Techniques are Found Across The Length & Breadth of India - We cannot Change The Mindset of People, They will Judge our Shortcomings, Errors, Inadequacies, Medical History, Family Background, Ethnicity - Everything will come Under The Radar of Public even for Common people also.

So if Abhinav Mukund is an Indian Cricketer, he will certainly Not be Spared The Rod - I too felt rather awkward when I saw his Photo when he Opened for India in The Sri Lanka vs India 2017 Test Series on Sony Six Channel and it is quite irritating. They could have chosen a Better Photo to display when his Teeth are Not shown so brazenly open like in this photo.

Nobody can change the way people think - They used to call Sachin Tendulkar as a Midget, Inzamam Ul Haq as Aaloo or Potato, Andrew Symonds as an Aborigene, Hashim Amla was called as a Terr0ri5t by Professor Dean Jones on Live Commentary, it all happens during Cricket Matches, Nobody is Immune to Controversy & Abuse by Players, Former Players & also Fans & Spectators !!

Racial...misquote
by M IYER on Aug 10, 2017 03:13 PM  | Hide replies

Calling names on dark skinned in Asia is not Racial.....understand the origin first of this derogatory word. It's European/English slang and it was coined on the ideology that, those races which were non-European hence, not fair in skin colour were of lower class. Here in India, which itself is multi toned in skin colour plus has it's fair bit of contribution of caste & class system, need not bother about the so called 'racism' on the basis of colour. It's just like what you call now a days as body shaming. It is natural that when you are a child, you call names on the basis of your looks/traits with a comparative thing/being. Why if someone is called a Deer for large eyes then "it is so cool" but when u are called a "bhainsa" then, it is ridiculous. The same children grow up in society and some carry their bachpana a little longer. Laugh it away....incidentally, till I played cricket uptill 30-31 yrs of my age, I was also dark, now I am just light brown...but I'm what I behave.

Its still discrimination on the basis of skin color. Most people in India look down on dark skin and prefer fair skin. Dont justify this sick mentality.

by anand kambli on Aug 10, 2017 02:51 PM

Myself have been taunted "KAALIA" "DAAMBAR" for my dark looks so i really stand up to what AM has said & has gone through...we indians are the most racist of them all so don't target the foreigners when we ourselves call names to a person who is a tad darker than us...Period

Infatuation with fair skins runs deep
by Gaurav H on Aug 10, 2017 02:27 PM  | Hide replies

Recently one Saffron leader compared South Indians with africans, because of Dark skin.

This guy was reacting on racist attacks on african students in India and said Indians are not racist, as we are co-existing with South Indians !!
