most people here think that ganguly has very good away test wins record .. but look at that record more closely... ganguly has 10 away test losses and 11 away test wins in 28 tests and dhoni has 6 away test wins and 15 away test losses in 30 tests.. but out of those 11 test wins in 28 tests ganguly played 7 tests (25%) against bd and zim winning 6 tests and losing one test....by contrast out of his 30 away tests dhoni played only 1 test against bd and zim winning that test .. out of those 30 away test as many as 19 tests (nearly 63%) are against eng aus and sa ..while in his 28 away tests as captain ganguly played only 9 tests against sa eng and aus.
Agree with Yousuf. Virat need to go much longer to come in that class. Major issue with him is consistency. One time he is fantastic but next two/ three times not coming good at all. However those I have seen Sunil Gavaskar was the best Indian batsman for ever. He was really a master against both spin & fast under any condition. Don't forget he batted against furious Carrabin quickies without helmet, went on scoring big centuries & never got injury. He was Maradona of cricket. I will keep only Bari Richards of SA above him with a little edge.

As far as India is concerned, India toured 6-7 times in Lanka between 1993-2015. Inspite of all the greats like Sanga, Mahila and Murli, India should have won atleast 1-2 series with people like Sachin, Dravid, Laxman in their ranks.

India VS Austrilia 2003 and 2007 vs England (It was Rahul Dravid all the way please cheque the scores. Also cheque ganguly's scores). Before that have you ever heard of India VS Zimbabwe 2001 Series where India drew series and could not won it. Pathetic performance after beating Australia at home.
I am just trying to say Ganguly always tries to undermine the Indian victories came at home.

Look guys a lot of fuss has been made of Ravi's statement. Actually everybody has ignored Ganguly's comments just came before that. Shastri's comments were only the reply to the comments of Ganguly. What Ganguly Said: Don't judge India by performance in Asia. So it was fitting (and indirect) reply by Shashtri that whether his team had beaten Srilanka?
