This great man will be remembered by future generations for his immense contribution to India cricket, but, according to nature's cycle everything in the world has a shelf life and expiry date including we humans and our activ ities...Of late we have witnessed MSD not at his prime for quite long--far below the expected level,he must understand his time and take a call so as not to block carrier of an upcoming youngster...He had his time, and must not come in way of blooming future of Indian Cricket...After retirement from playing-still he can contribute a lot to Indian cricket--only thing is he has to decide upon himself...
Why this talk of proving ? Does not every player need to prove his worth in every match ?. Hats off to Dhoni for his great deeds in the past ...but what has that got to do with his current form. How many India players have the maturity to step down like Ponting . Ponting stepped down from the team once he realized he was not contributing. He did not try to stay put and make things difficult for others because of this legend status.

absolutely. one thing he knows when to say enough if he fails. and if he is not saying enough that means he knows he can deliver better then bench strength of the team.
Let's face it- the Pune team is hurting because of Dhoni's inability to force the pace and Dhoni knows it as well. He is taking too much time to settle down and thus affecting his team's chances. Its best that he takes the call to quit himself...
It is difficult to adjust to a new circumstances. Suddenly captaincy from all formats have gone. He has to settle with the new role. He should be allowed to bat at no.4 in any team, even in Indian national team. Certainly his performance will improve in subsequent IPL matches.
One cannot live on past laurels. Today he isnot the no.1 keeper batsman in T20. Te honour should go to Quinton Decock. It is time Dhoni retired from all forms of cricket. Younsters like Samson Rishab Pant are waiting on thir wings. Let us face thefacts. Players like Dhoni Yuvraj are all past their primes. Now is the time to blood youngsters.
My son who is 8 years and a football player asked me to take him to Ranchi and since i could not afford to take him there i got him a ticket for whankhede for the match for 24th april and still he is on top of the world that he can at least see a gimps of DHONI. He is just the best anyday anytime.
