Was it an ambition to join Rajya sabha and bunk it? He is great when it comes to cricket, but that is hardly an excuse to have a pathetic attendance and participation record. People like Sachin, Rekha, Lata Mangeshkar and MF Husain should have not accepted their nomination or atleast resigned of shame if they had any.
Another one to be mentioned in this context is Gavaskar, who batted 60 overs scoring 36 runs, Criticized onedayers and short versions. NOW HE IS MAKING ALL HIS MONEY TALKING IN THESE MATCHES. MONEY, MONEY
Been looking at his entire career from his 1st match, he is always a timid player. When the team needs his skills badly, he used to fall out. I never saw he did any comment for the sake of Indian cricket. Even after his retirement he has been endorsing his fav Ambani's team but doing nothing for the Indian cricket.
I am against giving such big award like BharatRatna to any cricketer, because BCCI it self once declared that, it don't represents India but a private body.
Let me know any thing Sachin did for the nation so that he deserves BharatRatna, he has achieved all his name, fame & money because of cricket and fans but he returned to the nation is big ZERO.
Even he isn't won the world cup for India, he failed badly in the final as usual.

He Has just fulfilled his dreams...& has become a role model for all cricketers around the world..wonder what is the problem with u & what else he was suppose to do other than batting..opponents used to put strategy for him instead of team when he was playing..

ABSOLUTELY TRUE ON SELFISHNESS.WE WOULD RATHER HAVE LESS TALENTED.LOOK AT THE AUSTRALIANS.THEY ARE TOUGH ON THE FIELD,HIGHLY PATRIOTIC,GLOBALLY BENEVOLENT PROVIDE 50% OF EARNINGS FOR THE POOR A LOT FOR INDIA.
