This is too much interference by SC . The new selection panel formed as per the recommendations of Lodha Committee is a ridiculus one .If this , no cricketer would join the board because of Conflict of Interest . If all cricketers are to become commentators , it will not be good for holistic health of Indian cricket .

AUGUST BODY
by mahadevan ravi on Sep 28, 2016 01:18 PM  | Hide replies

Open defiance of Supreme Court orders seem to be the fashion of all the power centers (read “politicians and highflyers’)and is all along been evident in almost all fields especially states’disputes, sports, and financial misappropriations.
Any order passed by Hon.SC is after a lot of deliberations, arguments, hearings of parties, and according to due process of well laid down guidelines. To defy such orders and make a few concerned elements to comment negatively on the order is like belittling the country’s constitutional temple.
Just because a few people thru their deeds made BCCI the world’s richest body does not mean the SC cannot pass any order against its functions. That too after some of these people promised to implement the order “in totto”,before even going through it at all.
Now is the time to let it be known clearly that Hon.SC is not” a just body” but THE AUGUST BODY of our Nation.

Even Sc also want absolute power. Constitution amendment passed by parliament approved by president who is constitutional head was struck down by SC. They also know that the collegium system is not transparent and do not want to accept any change in the procedure of appointment of judges. Who is supreme in democracy? Is it parliament or SC judges. BCCI is a private body and they do not enjoy any previlage from government then why SC should interfere in their administration.

second there is monopoly in ckt by bcci. if there r more than 2-3 boards playing ckt then u can say its pvt body with competition.

What do you mean by monopoly by BCCI? It is for the country and it has be only one. Yes few of BCCI ex leaders have corrupt and action has been taken on them. However, defining how BCCI has to work in none of SC's prerogative and neither does contribution allows it. It is BCCI's dignity that they are making an effort to implement maximum of recommendations by Lodha panel but doesn't mean panel can dictate to BCCI. More over, SC don't have moral right anymore to expect people will respect their judgment because they disobeyed constitution amendment made by elected government. They should be ashamed of themselves!

Kicking out politicians is one good thing. However one state one vote looks ridiculous. Sikkim which has one cricket ground, Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal, Pudecherry, Andaman, Lakshadweep are equated with Maharahtra, Uttar Pradesh, Gujrat etc. This is a bit too much. I dont understand the propriety behind this at all.

Removal of BCCI chief

Absolutely right and welcome decision and actxion by the Lodha panel. Starting with defying the Hon`ble Supreme Court of India in matters like the Dahi Handi and many other issues, an impression spreading that the orders/directives of the apex court can be ignored with impunity. It would be better if the Panel asks the apex court to punish the blatantly disrespectful act of the BCCI.

All politicians should be shunted out of all sports organisations. They are the primary source of corrupt practices.

And replace them with Supreme Court and high court judges??? How do we know they are not looking for their share of power.?
Some of the recommendations like one state one vote seem ridiculous. See what we got as the new selection panel thanks to Lodha recomendations
