Re: Re: Re: Yes by Sunil Vaidya on Oct 28, 2016 06:25 PM karpurapu, in the first place players like sachin dravid laxman ganguly himself srinath bhajji kumble all played a lot of their cricket under azhar...so how cany u say ganguly created the team with above players? yes during his time players like zaheer yuvraj sehwag did blossom...and another thing how can u say dhoni inherited team from dada?? you are conveniently forgetting the captains dravid and kumble...many new players were introduced during their time like raina gambhir etc... so u see dhoni did not inherit any team from dada...like i said dada's team mostly comprised of players developed under azhar and dhoni took over the team from kumble... also after the legends of last generation retired dhoni built the new team from scratch like rohit sharma, prgayan ozha, amit mishra, dhawan, rahul, rahane, kohli pujara, ashwin, jadeja, yadav bumrah, shami bhuvanesh... my dear the list is very long...    Forward   |   Report abuse

Rohit, Jadeja, M Vijay & some extent Ashwin rest of all players are not consistently picked by any one. 2. Kohli & Rahane are self made people do not put then into Dhoni's credit - Indian cricket has lot 2 years of Rahane's service since Dhoni benched him long to keep chances to his bunnies. Hope your memory is short lived not too long ago Dhoni mentioned Rahane did not fit in his scheme of things ....and tried playing tricks with Kohli by not letting him play 3rd position ......he tried lot of cruel tricks 1. Openers rotation policy - to checkmate Sehwag/Gambhir 2. Undermining Yuvraj's allround skills post ODI Wcup to promote Jadeja. 3. Even matter of fact Ashwin was benched in few test matches for Jadeja ridiculous. Ashwin is by far better bowler and far far far better batsman than Jadeja. T20 Wcup is just fluke if we had such a strong team then why did we not able to continue success in T20 ....in spite of playing IPL regularly ..we struggled in this format for years this indicates Dhoni did nothing in building this T20 team to world cup....If you remove two of Yuvraj's innings against England & Australia which are must win games ..there would be not T20 cup in dhoni's profile to beat your chest. ODI Wcup Yuvraj & Zak are man and bowler of the series, rest of all are not consistent through out but did one or two key contributions each. Test cricket: Dravid/Laxman/Sachin/Kumble are always consistent irrespective of captain...we only succeeded because of the following in priority 1. AGGRESSION introduced by Dada in INDIAN cricket - world has agreed to this statement. 2. Opening: Sehwag as opener gifted by DADA, Gambhir joined ranks under Dravid. 3. Zak - without him we would not have this much success in test cricket. 3. Dada's boyz - Harbajan, Dhoni himself ware fastracked into team. You go review interviews/statements of Sehwag/Zak/Bajji - they owe their careers to Dada....
