Earlier there were system fault that how the impact point of the ball would be included in tracking ??
It was making predictive path of the delivery bit faulty after the point of intersection . That's why BCCI & Team India players opposed it .
There were too much of manual intervention in DRS & hence chances of error was always there .
Hawk eye can miss the ball , there is no surety that Hawk eye will trace each & every delivery . Now with ULTRA EDGE technology in place which creates FOUR FRAMES that automatically utilizes all the four so that exact impact of the ball is known ie where it hit the pad . Its more or less like HOT SPOT .
Also, with ULTRA MOTION CAMERAS in place , which has replaced conventional broadcast cameras the number of frames getting recorded is 12 times higher than normal cameras , hence chances of error by DRS & third umpire is very less As compaired with on field umpires .
