TOO early to rate him greatest. He is a good spinner.... But will take some time to be the greatest with the league of kumble. lets wait and watch how he bowls in foreign tracks
Ashwin is a bowler par excellence. He keeps pegging away at the opposition while his fellow tweakers struggle to get their act together..
He's genuine spinner and has a clean action unlike Saeed Ajmal who kept fudging the cricket world.
Many cricket fans do not understand the subtleties/nuances of the game and hence keep criticizing genuine champions. Ashwin bowled consistently at 83 kmph and reaped rewards.. Santner, Jaddu, Jeetan Patel are not in the same category..

I agree here.Moreover, the quality of opposition has also not been up to standards. Greatest? uhhhhh.. he has a long way to go before even being considered a great bowler. He is good on sub continental pitches. period.
His records in Overseas is dismal. How can be he the greatest? in India he is getting tailor made wickets where he is taking wickets by heaps. Let him do the same in Aus / Eng / SA then only he will be Greatest.

I think people who claim him to be great bowler are either blind or no knowledge of cricket. He will be massacred in countries like Australia, South Africa, England and New ZEALANAD,

Absolutely right! We tend to boost ordinary players into great by playing with statistics. I wonder what is given to these boosters!
