FIRST TEST MATCH
by srirama chandra rao on Nov 13, 2016 07:46 PM

It is a pity that our spinners could get only 9 wickets but their England counterparts could get 13 wikcets. We have to know whether the quality of spinners is good from England or our batsmen are not able to counter good spin. In the second test we should get Rahul back or give a chance to Karun nair by dropping Gambhir who is ageing now.

In the run up

to the test series, the Indian print and electronic media continually ran screaming headlines such as Indian team waiting for England with spin trap, Ashwin licking his lips to get his hands on the England team, India set to smother English lambs with spin, etc.

After 5 days of cricket, Ashwin, the man appointed by the Indian media as the worlds most dangerous bowler, is perhaps looking for his tongue to lick his lips with !

India really outplayed in this Test. Our spinners looked so ineffective while England spinners were menacing. Watch out at VIzag !!

I feel it is more to do with our batsmen who were not that determined or competent.

Same vulnerability time and again
by Kannan Ramanan on Nov 13, 2016 05:47 PM

India showed the same problem last time when England toured. Their batters played well against our spin, our batters panicked. Everything went wrong from day one. Between today morning when england batted to afternoon when we batted did the pitch change so dramatically that we started losing wickets in a heap. Though easier said than done: India should have scored a bit faster in the 1st innings and should have almost matched England, not allowed England to score 3.5-4.0 RPO yesterday and finally 51 overs - 310 could have still been an ONE DAY Situation. India should learn the lessons
