Dravid

There is no better student of the game in the country even today, other than Dravid. Gavaskar has hit the bullet spot on .
As for someone telling Gavaskar to retire, why dont the same person look into himself, & check out whether he is fit to comment on Gavaskar, Dravid & so on. Dude understanding of the game & its nuances is more important , than playing to galleries. Flamboyance is not needed, you need a sound analytical mind , and a very big heart to understand & guide a bunch of young cricketers to mould them . At present Dravid will be really a very good choice, if at all selected.

We need aggressive & attacking attitude

We need someone with aggressive & attacking

mind-set. I doubt if Dravid has that attitude

in him.

Not suitable

Dravid as coach will be a failure. We have seen that he tinkers too much with team combination as has a very defensive attitude. It will be the worst decision for team India

Yes. Why not Dravid, a proven cricketer with qualities required to guide a team.
Time, BCCI comes out of their colonial minds. We are no less to anyone. Be Indian and Better Be Indian.

is not the right choice!

If Dravid is made as the coach India will be playing all the five days in batting only. He will teach the technique to remain on the crease for ever. No aggressive, competitive batsmen will ever evolve. On top of that no player will have a smile on their face like him. Everyone will be pretending they are indispensable and carrying a big burden on them. Dravid is not the right choice, but for G R Vishwanath he would not be there in the team. no talent only hard work was lucky that he played for India. Look at his game in shorter version, have ever seen him aggressive? Gavaskar has to promote him because he also played 50 over scoring 50 runs!

Dravid sure is the best man for the job if agrees to do it. He is the one under whom, India broke the record for most consecutive victories batting second in One-Day Internationals. Rahul Dravid led India to a historic Test series win, against the West Indies in their home soil in 2006. Since 1971, India had never won a Test series in the West Indies. This was also their first prominent series win outside the Indian subcontinent (barring the win against Zimbabwe in 2005) since 1986. Rahul Dravid was the first captain to lead India to a Test match victory against South Africa on South African soil. He is only the third captain from India to win a Test series in England. The other two captains being Kapil Dev (1986) and Ajit Wadekar (1971). As a player too his record was impeccable. Aggression is not about making wide-eyed violent gestures at opponents. Cricket is a different sport. Do find out more about Rahul before talking about him. You are showing your ignorance to the world.

The Great Indian Wall
by RMK Proprietor on May 18, 2016 09:15 AM

There is no doubt in the statements made by SunnyJi & Ponting. Who else can be better then these 2 former legends to assess a coach's Strength & motivation, to be passed onto young Players. I think I have commented on article relating to The Great Wall's appointment, where I suggested a reassessment of the WALL for the fees sanctioned by BCCI. He is worth much much more.
