THAKUR LOOKS FQAVOURITE BUT NO POLITICIAN PLEASE
by damodaran mohan on May 12, 2016 03:54 PM

Going by performance ,administrative ability ,confidence level etc. Anurag Thakur certainly looks the best. Moreover he is young and comes from the ruling party. However being a politician he is ineligible for the post as per Lodha committee recommendations. So even if he is elected the President once SC gives its ruling next month on Lodha panel he might have to step down. Thus Ajay Shirke is the only eligible candidate unless others like N Srinivasan ,Saurav Ganguly etc. the non politicians lot too throw their hat in the ring.

Go with lodha commission - sack politicians from sports
by Prakash S on May 11, 2016 05:57 PM

All politicians have lot of work to do in their constituencies, But we they visit once in a while and disappear until next elections, They love sitting @ delhi or mumbai, Most of these politicians are corrupt, its just business expansion for them to get invloved in sports organizations, so irrespective of any party, get right administrators like shashank manohar(not sure abt him either, bcoz he did not talk anything abt lalith modi until now).

Mr.Pratik, be an indian first and next is rest. I feeel so sorry for other bengal cricket assocaition, after dalmiya, there were so many seriors to deserviced his chair, but what, you all know, politicians rule the boards and that is the reason we are so bad at sports, even though we have 1.2 billion people and we hardly have few sports persions has role models, it is just bcoz of their hard work, dedication(certainly not from any politicians).

Prasanna Vishwasrao
BCCI President
by Prasanna Vishwasrao on May 11, 2016 01:46 PM

SC has already expressed its displeasure over politicians occupying BCCI posts. So both Rajiv Shukla and Anurag Thakur are out. That means only Ajay Shirke, a non-politician who resigned to oppose N. Srinivasan, remains in the race. He should be the next BCCI President.

Rediff has given information only about Anurag Thakur. Why not about Rajeev Shukla and Ajay Shirke? If you are conducting a poll, all three candidates should be introduced.

Dwarak Narasimhan
BCCI CHEIF
by Dwarak Narasimhan on May 11, 2016 12:12 PM

The BCCI always claims to be an indepdent body and not belongs to Sports Authority of India. On the other hand, the elected members of Legislative assembly are looking for post in BCCI. I would suggest politicians to stay away and bring reforms to the society - a primary job. I agree to reserve all post only to cricketers.
