Test Match Cricket separates Boys from Men - T20 cricketers are good only in T20's and IPL, Big Bash & other lesser known Domestic T20 tournaments.
The Ultimate Test for any Cricketer and his Caliber and Class is Test match cricket - Don't ask an Indian, Ask a Britisher, an Australian, South African or New Zealand cricket player, they will agree.
Indian cricket is Degenerating only into T20 & ODI formats without any space for 5 day Test matches.

we hv seen these boys performance in tests against SA, Aus, Eng that too against mediocre bowling attack. Wht if they had to play against walsh, ambrose, marshall, mcgrath, lee, bond, warne, vettory, akram, akhtar, yunus, imran, murli, donald, ntini etc. match wud hv finished in 3 days :)
temperament against strong sides like pakistan and australia, no technical flaws, the ability to score runs in india and abroad, ability to chase big scores and win, ability to score at strike rate of 150.

we hv to see kohli in tests especially in eng n wi. test cricket is real cricket, dnt forget that kohli is not palying against the bowling attack which Sachin used to play.
I knw u like to criticize Sachin in every post bt dnt run from reality.
BTW why Virat didnt win series in bdesh, aus n against SA recently :)

You will not understand.. most indians have low analytical skills. Therefore they are fooled easily. They think Sonia Gandhi is better than Atal Behari Vajpayee and then pay the price with scams of 12 lac crores and a lost decade.

Let's say that Virat Kohli, A.B Deviliers, Steve Smith & Joe Root are the best 4 batsmen presently playing in the world.
You will have to wait for 2 years more to conclude who is the best among them.
Each one has different characteristics.
Kohli's strength lies in pacing the innings while chasing the target. He is the master of picking the gaps & manoeuvring the bowl & convert singles into twos & when bad bowl comes, give it the deserved treatment. His batting is totally risk-free & fluent.
Joe Root is very similar to Kohli but he has not proved himself against spinners just as Virat Kohli's best against swing bowling ( in Englad ) is yet to come.
Steve Smith is extremely unorthodox but have an amazing timing, great footwork fantastic hand-eye coordination & he can be destructive as well.
As far as ABD is concerned he is the most destructive, most innovative & have shots on all sides of the ground. He is the most attacking of them all.
But he is little weak against quality spin bowling & technically perhaps not as sound as the above 3. But he makes up for it with his power-hitting & innovation.
So, to sum it up I think each 4 has some unique features & time will tell who is the best among them all......

wrong. no comparison with Sachin. Kohli is best and no doubt it. But to compare with Sachin he has to go miles ago.

sachin played 400 ODI & 100 Tests. please count total no of matches he won/saved for India. you'll get your answer. no wonder virat still needs to prove his consistency in front of record book to get an approval from fan like yours. living a very moment with honour & pride is always better than living a whole life of mediocrity.

What if yuvi n dhoni had nt made 39 runs combined with kohli, India wud hv lost d match. Nobody wins match single handedly, 3-4 performances win match which never used to happen whn sachin batted. Dnt forget Sachin 175 vs Aus, 136 vs Pak whn others failed n team lost.
Also Kohli played well in aus still we lost ODI series bcz dere wr not 3-4 gud performances :)
Why draw comparison with the past cricket heroes,Kohli is the class of his own and age being his side just wait and watch which land mark will remains unaltered by him.
This Indian team is one man army. Only Virat is someone who can play under pressure and to an extent Dhoni. Rest are on BCCI payroll enjoying like Govt.Employees No work only pay. I wonder how can players like Raina, Dhawan, Yuvraj (in current form) play for India and Rahane,Manish Pandey are not in team!! Few Fools say that if Virat fails then Raina,Pandya,Jadeja will score runs. I bet this players can not score 50 runs combined against good attack..

Both Rohit and Dhawan have failed in all four group matches of T-20 world cup. What not replace any one of them with Ajinkya who had really done well as an opener in IPL? For T-20, Ajinkya would be definitely an asset as an opener.

Zaheer Abbas was very good largely against spinners. Have not experienced much Sachin has done like Virat under this kind of pressure expect one tri series at Sharja. Yes Lara was of a different class. Under current situation it appears that Virat will break all past records.

I agree. Sachin has rarely performed while chasing, more specifically in a crunch games. The only exception were tri series at Sharjah and world cup game against Pak in 2003 WC.

@Rajendra i cn gv u atleast 50 examples in which sachin alone played while chasing whn others failed. Dnt write fr d sake of writing n check stats. BTW did u knw that Sachin made 175 while chasing 351 vs Aus, 119 vs Eng while chasing 408, 141 vs pak while chasing 320... the list is long both in ODI n Tests:)
