POST THAT ENERGY SAPPING GAME THE Q WAS NOT IN ORDER
by damodaran mohan on Mar 26, 2016 03:52 PM  | Hide replies

It is true that so far India have not played to the reputation of the pre-tournament favorites tag given to them. To that extent the intent of the question was right but the way the Q was framed and making it the first Q to a captain who had just entered after the energy sapping win was not right. Recall Ashwin saying that the team was totally drained out and that he wanted to just crash. In fact it was not just the team but even the spectators in front of TV were totally drained out the way the match panned out. That is why Dhoni cannot be blamed for losing the cool considering what he went through just a little while ago.It is time media becomes more sensitive to situations. Moreover a section of media and experts rated Pak as favorites over India w/o proper assessment of relative strengths too must have irked him. Coming back to the team performances media must appreciate that although there were no comfortable wins but the Dhoni led side have got out of pressure situation to come out on top repeatedly which only a champion side can do. Moreover except for NZ who are so far playing very calculative and well planned cricket as scripted rest of the sides have struggled with low totals due to difficult conditions. Only the Mumbai and Mohali wickets are playing easy and lot of runs are being scored. To that extent Indian batting should do well and hope the last energy sapping game would not affect their performance. India are certainly the favorites the way they have th

(CONTD.)India are certainly the favorites the way they have thrashed the Aussie in recent times. One thing going in favor of Aus is the last comfortable win over Pak which must have buoyed their confidence. Before that they were not playing well.

Well done MSD and very good reply to the media to shut their mouth. It is very easy to say so many things by sitting in the AC press box.

Next time he should ask the media person if he know how to handle the Cricket bat properly and has ever played any competitive cricket before accepting any questions from them. This is the only way to treat such people.

India was given a win on a platter by the Bangladesh players who was absolutely idiotic in their last over.Dhoni ,though a great player and wicket keeper should kneel down to accept that hopeless win.period!!

India's 1 run victory
by Damodar Biswal on Mar 25, 2016 09:32 AM  | Hide replies

Dhoni should not have lost his cool.He should accept that Bangladesh played much better cricket than India. Why he is insisting on playing the non performing players when we have better players in the bench? Does he think that 146 was a reasonable score for India against Bangladesh? If the wicket was bowler friendly how did Bangladesh score 145 runs?Bour boys did not play up to their full potential. There is nothing wrong in admitting the fact.

It is the right reaction to shut media persons mouth. They always act over smart without realising the actual pressure on the team and the captain during such match and instead of appreciating the Indian teams great effort to win such a match they ask such questions. Dhoni is known to be the coolest person and he will never loose his temper without any strong valid reason.

Dhoni = Excuses & Blames
by tejas on Mar 24, 2016 10:52 PM  | Hide replies

Dhoni's complaint about turning pitch & giving it as an excuse for not scoring even respectable total against minnows Bangladesh is absolutely unfathomable & hard to digest.

We are playing in our own country, we can prepare whatever type of pitch we want.

Authority to prepare pitches lies with the host nation & ICC has absolutely no say in it, unless it is absolutely pathetic, dangerous or below average standard.

Remember Ravi Shastri abusing Wankhede curator Sudhir Naik for not preparing pitch as per his liking & so called batting pitch when SA piled on 438 runs during ODI last year ?
We lost that game with huge margin.

Then why Shastri is silent now? Why was he tight lipped about our Nagpur fiasco against New Zealand ?
It is allegedly prepared as per Shastri's instructions with the thought process that Kiwi's would struggle against spin. But unfortunately for India Kiwis have already done their homework well & picked 3 spinners. And it's our tragedy that what Kiwis could read from the pitch, our stalwarts like Shastris & Dhonis couldn't & we surrendered completely & got buried in the graves created by us for them.

So, Dhoni....nobody's going to buy & trust your excuses about pitches, toss, conditions etc. etc.

Such a foolish comment is this.....So by your logic....one has to be Don Bradman to comment anything on Dhoni's weird captaincy & decisions.

Cricket is not my profession. I am not getting millions of dollars daily for it. But Dhoni is getting for it. And more importantly he is not representing Ranchi or Jharkhand or any other commercial team like CSK, he is representing India at international level. So, as a citizen of India & being a hard-core cricket fan, I have every right to ask the basic questions which are the root causes of India's failures.

Show some tolerance to answer the questions instead of talking non-sense.

but why no spinners
by bommaraju ramarao on Mar 24, 2016 06:56 PM

On one side Spin pitches are prepared; then you only one quality spinner in Ashwin.. Jadeja is free lancer, any thing is bonus from him. Opposition teams, knowing that these spin pitches take 3 quality spinners, and two quality fast bowlers, all of them prove handy your batsmen look all at sea, call it because of good bowling or big names like Rohit, Shikhar, Raina and Yuvraj are struggling. And when it comes to bowling you the only two dependable bowlers are Ashwin and Bhumra, the rest are guests based on their luck for the day.. Is this the team that is going to win World Cup with??? Well wait and see......
