1.) Dhoni handled his bowlers & field placing superbly. 2.) Afridi is not a good captain. Infact, not fit to play & should retire. 3.) If you have mentioned, Pak didn't have another spinner, that could be reason. Of course, Virat in Indian team is certainly a reason. Afridi not bowling well could be cited a reason.
Leaving all these, giving a running commentary will not be a root cause analysis.
