WHAT A SHAME - - BUT STILL NO NEED TO WORRY
by Shilpa Mehta on Mar 16, 2016 01:51 PM  | Hide replies

Never saw Team India losing so badly to a team .

126 was not at all a big score even on a spinning wicket but lack of planning & adaptability to a turning pitch cost us the match .

ITS MORE OF OUR POOR BATTING RATHER THAN GOOD BOWLING BY NZ COST US THE GAME .
ARE THESE NATHAN MC-CULLUM , SODHI , SANTNER WORLD CLASS SPINNERS ?? NO - -
They are ordinary bowlers , still we gave them silly wickets .

But , NO PROBLEM . Team India is well known for bouncing back strongly & will surely take a lesson from this defeat & will comeback strongly .

See , even when entire team gets out at 78 , MSD'S individual contribution is 30 & a stumping at lightening speed .
And of course 24 by Kohli .

Dada's XI vs. Dhoni's XI
by Guru RamRahimDsuza on Mar 16, 2016 01:44 PM

Dada's team used to lock horns against Australia,England in their home conditions and Dhoni's team can bat only on flat track. Do I need to explain anything to prove who is the best captain??

when dhoni accepted the defeat
by Radhakrishnan Vokkarane on Mar 16, 2016 01:36 PM

This fellow always find some excuses for the defeat. Infact he can not comment on umpiring . Next will be pitch. If it is Australia or any other place its ok to blame but it is our own backyard and we have won on this pitch several times. If some foreign player commented on the pitch these buggers would have reacted. But how can this fellow comment?. Eating his own pill?

INDIAN BATTING IS HIGHLY OVER-RATED
by Hindustani on Mar 16, 2016 12:47 PM  | Hide replies

SHIKHAR DHAWAN is in team for mere show-off ?
What is his contribution with the bat in recent times.

SURESH RAINA is a flat pitch bully & becomes a dead fish on fast & spinning tracks with uneven bounce.

ROHIT SHARMA bats once in fortnight & that too when INDIA IS BATTING FIRST & when pitch is FLAT. He invariably throws his wicket while chasing a target.

YUVRAJ SINGH has already past his prime. He no longer look even the 1/3 of the player he once used to be during his peak. He miss the simple scoring opportunities even full tosses.

RAVINDRA JADEJA is ONLY A GOOD FIELDER, AN AVERAGE BOWLER & A TERRIBLE BATSMAN. I feel pity on the intelligence of those who call Jadeja an all-rounder. He has not been scoring with the bat for a significantly long duration.

HARDIK PANDYA is GOOD FIELDER, AN AVERAGE BOWLER & BELOW AVERAGE BATSMAN. His technique is horrible & he won't survive against good bowling.

DHONI ALWAYS BLAME OTHERS. Sometimes it's PITCH,
Sometimes it's CONDITIONS, Sometimes it's BOWLERS,
Sometimes it's BATSMEN. When conditions are favorable he promotes himself up to FINISH THE GAME but when conditions are supportive to BOWLERS, HE NEVER TAKE THE ONUS TO FINISH THE GAME.

In yesterday's match, pitch was supporting the

spinners BUT ASHWIN, JADEJA BOWLED VERY

DEFENSIVELY ON THE PADS OF THE KIWI BATSMEN. THIS

WAS AN EXTREMELY NEGATIVE MINDSET FROM THE START.

THEY WERE AFRAID TO ATTACK THEM. JADEJA BOWLED 5

WIDE BOWLS. NEHRA L

Nehra leaked too many runs in the death

overs. Runs in last 4 overs cost India

dearly.

India's defeat by Newzealand
by thakur singh on Mar 16, 2016 12:01 PM

India has fallen in the trap it makes for others, by preparing spinner friendly pitches in India to win unilateral matches. Now they have fallen in their own trap. Spinners are not the monopoly of only indian team.

TEAM NEEDS THIS SHAKE-OUT
by Kannan Ramanan on Mar 16, 2016 11:51 AM

yesterday's match surely was an shock-therapy for Indian team. No doubt pitch was bad, but that's the same pitch NZ played and they made a decent score. Even Ronchi's late burst was important, had he been dismissed cheap and restricting score to 110-115 say, still wouldn't have made difference as India made just 80. Whatever feelings one might have for Dhoni, I don't think he can be blamed for the defeat. Our batsmen were pathetic. It was not devilish spin, they were too circumspect but the mind was saying it is too small a total and we can easily make it. Sodhi was turning the ball from middle to off, everybody was trying to play leg side rather than cuts, drives and inside out shots. Indians are known to be excellent players of SPIN !!!! The team needs to be self-confident, not over confident.

Cheaters India
by sunshine times on Mar 16, 2016 11:42 AM

Big cheaters thought that as the WC is been played in India, they would prepare a spinner friendly wrotten wicket and tame the opposition. Little did they know, that the opposition would have quality spinners who would make their life _hell. So India were caught by their own bluff. Well played NZ. Next up, India should be routed out in the 1st round.

Dhoni is instinctive but not a thinker...
by Radhakrishnan on Mar 16, 2016 11:39 AM

Which may not be bad as instincts are more important on the field. It is the Cricket correspondents who are adopting a thoughtless attitude of criticizing the Captain whenever he fails. Dhoni's excuses are not well thought out. The reason India failed was the wicket was turning square in the second part and batting second was a distinct disadvantage. With better application, they might have come closer, yet might have lost. As simple as that!
