I was doing BE 6th semester & i had exam on the next day. On that day i planned that i will coverup my studies by doing night out but if i miss this trilling match it will not come again in life. So i watched the entire match & i was so happy to see the world records live. Next day i met my friends after the exam & all said that even they saw the complete match & gave very little time to exam :) After 15yrs i don't remember the subject nor the lessons of the exam which i wrote but i remember every trilling moment of that match.

I was visiting my relative while the test was in progress...feeling very low having lost the first test and seeing the way the current test underway was progressing. And then comes the revival...something that initially went unnoticed..Laxman and Rahul..geniuses..gradually building to become a sizable lead..oh...and the victory..unbelievable..

And it seems like just the other day! One of the finest moments indeed in Indian Test Cricket History. After the mauling at Mumbai, and the spineless performance in the first innings, not even in the wildest dreams did anyone believe that we could avoid an innings defeat -forget about "WINNING" the match!!
That team of Australia had such an invincible aura about it! After three miserable innings, Indian Batting line-up appeared to have no clue as to how to see off McGrath! Kasprowicz and Gillespie were no less menacing! And then Warne to give the spinning touch! I remember only four bowlers were enough to dismantle India's batting line-up in the first innings! Also, India had let them off hook from 260/8 in the ist innings! But like the typical Aussie character, they came back, and posted close to 450 and had India on the mat, but for teh historic turnaround. Sachin (3wkts) and Ganguly (century partnership with Laxman in second innings as well as one wicket) also played key roles that most forget. The match also redefined the 'Follow-on' concept!
I remember, as a 25 yr old, newly joined at my work place in Port Blair at the Andaman Islands. I dug out some important work that had to be done at Mumbai and kept a few hours just to visit Chennai and watch these two wonderful cricket teams playing each other live! Memorable indeed!
