Shastry's record as a coach in India's overseas tours was not good, so far as in Tests and One-day internationals concerned. It was good that India opted for change and entrusted the job with Kumble who can perform only better.
Cricket fans who has followed the game from the year 2000 will never forget how much this as Shastri as disrespected Ganguly many times with his commentry. Ravi shastri has no business to talk or teach about respect to ganguly. Ravi is simply showing his dissent on Ganguly as he could not convince the coach selection panel. But in all Kumble is a good selection. For now Ravi should shut his mouth and mind his business.
Some may remember that when Ganguly was stripped of Indian captaincy and then place in team, it was Sastry who was disrespectful about Ganguly\'s certain observation about domestic cricket. Sastry cannot complain now.
