Question is what changed that the same Ashwin who looked totally helpless and clueless to produce just that "one" wicket in an entire day's play to seal a win for India in SA series couple of yrs ago virtually ripped through the innings? In fact he was dropped in subsequent Tests and even series overseas in favor of juniors! He was supposed to be good only in home conditions in turning conditions and ineffective in foreign pitches under unhelpful conditions! Even in AG in WI the wickets are not that spin friendly. "Attack"! I think Kohli's attack mantra made all the difference right from 5 bowlers theory to a very attacking field with hardly any fielder in the deep! This is in sharp contrast to Dhoni's defensive approach which had cast a shadow on Ashwin's career itself! Problem with Dhoni is his mental block and his rigid belief that Ashwin can’t give results in unfriendly overseas pitches beside his inherent defensive approach overall. No wonder such erroneous judgment produced poor results! Moreover even the pacers bowled in the right areas putting pressure on the WI batters which also helped the spinners. There again the credit goes to Capt. Kohli the way he attacked and handled the bowlers! However still we would like to reserve the judgment on Ashwin and Kohli's leadership until a more consistent team performances comes against tougher overseas tours.
