He has performed well as cool and strtegic caption. He was good with bat and weeketkeeper gloves, but lately he has lost touch in batting as finisher also he is some times slugish behind wickets. Now he has to dcide on retirement issue. He has served Indian cricket with speldid perfoprmance, the people expects same M.S.Dhoni as in past years.
As per Ian Chappell Indian 1 Day Captain should leave his position is just like forcing a giant out of the den. It's because of his knock & his patience the last 1 Day was won, do remember the match earlier, when he was dismissed, where were other players who could not make the required score, even the bowlers also did not bowl up to the mark, it's just a cat and mouse game for some who want to see a well established captain out of his seat.

Sir I agree with your comment.Alone Dhoni should not be blamed for the debacle. Its a team game where each player has responsibility to perform.Dhoni will always be remembered as the most successful Captain & cricketer/ sportsperson due to his immence contribution.Regards

Well said. We should have the well established captain in his seat lose seven more series so we can praise him more.
Chappel is right abt Dhoni but he refuses to bid goodbye honourably. Quite a few Indian players insist they're irreplaceable in sharp contrast to overseas players.

Dhoni is following the footsteps of Sachin who overstayed a lot more than expected!

Yes the person as Dhni was successfull as captain and finisher in onday/20-20 crcket. Now he has to decide for retirement, there are lots players awaiting for the appotunity.Indian cricket has great future if the playes perform to there capacity.
Even Shastri should be removed. All they keep saying is team in learning. To learn there are acadmeys in India & other places. Its just not weak bolwling, basic cricketing knowledge is lacking wrt to even field placement
There are many in India who dont like Chappell. But if you analyse honestly, guys like Chappell are the biggest reason that the Australian cricket time is still at the top in International cricket in all forms of the game. Whether you like his views or not ,but he speaks honestly. He is a hard task master , which we indians cannot digest . History has proved it where even the best in the country couldnt digest his views. As far as what he has said abt Dhoni is spot on .The same he said abt another great indian player a few years ago ( all heel broke loose after that ). This team needs a fresh set of ideas , fresh outlook & contributing members including the captain . The sooner it is done the better for the team.

Very true MNN, truth is bitter. At times Chappel didn't hesitate to criticize even Australian board for wrong decisions. Dhoni was in dilemma to chose bowlers in this series. Why Ashwin was dropped in Canberra game is best known to him. Similarly field placement is another issue which Dhoni failed to solve. So many runs leaked due to wrong placement. Most importantly his own batting failure is last nail in coffin. Chappel's criticism should be taken in true spirit.
When Chappal used to say this on other "seniors", Dhonitards were like "Ian is the greatest cricketer. Whatever he is telling is 100% right". Now they are like "Let him mind his own business". Sore losers L0L
