Dhoni's blunders
by Sudarshan Nityananda on Jan 18, 2016 07:18 AM

Aside from being sarcastic, does Dhoni realize the terrible tactical blunder he made by dropping Ashwin at Melbourne of all places. Every cricket captain except him knows that the MCG does aid spin to an extent, and so does Sydney. India should drop Yadav and play Ashwin in his place for a strong spin attack . The Aussies will be forced to play slow stuff on responsive tracks, which they don't like too much .

MSD's days are over... He has lost his charm and command

How strong the team has become after replacing Ashwin!!!! An opener who finds form in every ten innings is not an issue. a fielder dropping a sitter isn\'t an issue either; a leading pace (if u can call 130 as pace, of course) bowler bowls down the leg side and hit for runs after his captain lets him know which line he expects him to bowl by placing a slip fielder at a customary second slip position isn\'t the issue nor, giving the opposition a cushion of 2 or 3 extra overs to reach the target set by bowling wides and no balls an issue. For all the wrongs and for all the poor showing in the first two ODIs, Ashwin was the sole reason and we have seen it already today.

When the team tours overseas, it\'s the job of the pacers to get the wickets and the spinners only provide the support role and in a home series, they switch roles. Our attack abroad should always comprise of 3 genuine pacers and 2 genuine spinners. Why time and again poor Ashwin is made the scapegoat to mask the grave failures in other areas?

Captain, we had a seaming allrounder or shud i say we still have him. Irfan Pathan.. He is still there. Use him. Tell him the required confidence. Tell him we will give you 2 series to come back to rhythm of international cricket. Its not for his sake. Its for the sake of our country. He is a rare specie. a fast bowling allrounder.
