M. Aamir from what we have seen till now, looks far more threatening, versatile & accurate bowler than Shoaib Akhtar.
Akhtar while he was new, used to have a lethal in swinging Yorker a similar bowl which Waquar used to have, but as he grew older he only relied on pace & lost his accuracy & line.
Whereas, Aamir looks threatening because he has great swing, both inswing & outswing at speed of 150 which is more often unplayable.
He force the batsmen play every time that's his weapon.
The deliveries which he bowled to Sharma, Rahane were extremely difficult to counter, they both were beaten for pace, the bowl came in & hit their pads at very high speed before their bat came down. Raina's dismissal was also good but it was Raina's faulty technique on fast pitches & inability to cope the bounce to blame more than anything.
In short, at present Aamir reminds the class of Waqar or Akram but, whether he can show the consistency & adaptability on different pitches, which those two greats showed in their career, remains to be seen.
Mohammed Amir is class apart. Shoaib Akhtar is way way way behind him. Shoaib was just pace, Amir is pace, work and variety. Had he not been banned for 5 years he would have already started comparison with Steyn, Akram etc. He is a fantastic bowler

Well, Amir has just begun. Time will tell whether he has the consistency to carry on like the past Pakistan bowling greats. He definitely has great potential! Pakistan should refrain from putting unnecessary burden of expectations on the young lad.
