No doubt Rahane is a very good batsman but still it will be difficult to accomodate him in playing XI .
See , he can't replace Yuvraj as Yuvraj's two three spin overs are very crucial if fast bowlers gets hammered as he is taken as an all rounder in the team & gives MSD more bowling options .
It is a pity that such a consistent player will not be in the final eleven. But he can be played instead of Yuvraj as we have more alrounders like Jadeja, Raina, Pandya in addition to the regular bowlers Ashwin, Nehra,Bumra so that batting can be reliable
Rahane is a great test batsman, a good ODI batsman but he is too slow for the T-20 cricket.
In T-20 cricket strike rate of even 100% is of no use. You need to have at least 150% & above strike rate, if you want to win matches at international level.
And also, Rahane can't play the lofted power shots like many of other players do.
Off course as a batsman he is technically sound & way better as a batsman than some body like Jadeja, but Jadeja is used mainly as a bowler & fielder & Rahane is of no use in middle order as he would not score fours & sixes from the start.
IN MY VIEW, YUVRAJ IS ALSO STRUGGLING WITH THE BAT & SHOULD BE KEPT OUT.

rahane is as great a fielder as anyone . He has been used as a opener most of his career so his hitting abilities are not known , anyway hitting sixers is not the only to score even in death overs . He must be part of the eleven.
