the so called celebrities present in advertisements ?
What is their role in ads (if not to fool the easy-to-fool commoners) ?
Are celebrities who garishly (and often distastefully) make themselves present in ads really well placed to talk about or promote the products they are endorsing ?
For example, why must the experience of Sachin Tendulkar with Gillette razors be any more illuminating about the product than the experience of just about anyone using those razors ?
The answer obviously is that it is not Mr.Tendulkars experience with the razors really that matters for the commoner who gets hooked and is persuaded to keep buying the product. It is that commoner's lack of judgement and self-esteem that justifies Mr.Tendulkar's presence in the Gillette ad !
And it is this trait of the commoners that make men such as Tendulkar and others such as movie artistes (who possess one skill in abundance and are as much of commoners as any commoner in every other measure) so very rich and the commoners of the country so very foolish !

L0L, you mean they should have people like you and me in Gillette ads? You think like Alia Bhatt.

L0L, and "special people" like you are the reason for India progressing in whatever direction you see?
In a football match we have advertisements only during break... so how are the big clubs and boards surviving? BCCI bigwigs are worried because their cut money will decrease.
The best way of implementation of Lodha committee report is to systematically reviewing each of the recommendations by a BCCI ‘Implementation committee’(IC) consisting of cricketer, marketing/finance and legal experts and come out with comments detailing the implications and difficulties if any against each of the recommendations. Revenue and legal implication should be brought out clearly based on this study for each of the various recommendations to be categorized in priority depending upon ease of implementation to the most difficult ones and the entire study report of IC can be sent back to Lodha committee with suggestion etc. for their reconsideration for making acceptable changes if any. Once the revised report from the Lodha committee is recd. finally a joint meeting with Lodha committee and BCCI’s IC can be held and a final “implementation process” of agreed points can be drawn up duly signed by both the committees with specific time frame of not more than 2 months which has to be the essence of the entire exercise. What happens in case of disagreements? SC has to be the arbiter and its decision will be final and binding. My personal view is most of the recommendations are implementable with minor variations here and there
the enormous money that BCCI earns, never goes properly to the development, nor it is shared with other sports governing bodies (eg. Hockey). Very high caliber hockey players are used to travel by trains! Either BCCI should be forced to use the money in a proper way or let them suffer losses, so that some select individuals won't be earning to the tune of crores.
lodha report is a useless report which can be prepared by a 3rd grade student.judges making commercial decisions on behalf of bcci is foolish in reality.
