Testing all 10
by Raman Krishnaswamy on Feb 10, 2016 11:44 PM

If Dhoni wants to test all the 10 players, he can send them in the reverse order, i.e., after one of openers is out, he can send in the 10th, then 9th, 8th and so on.

NO NEED TO WORRY AT ALL
by Shilpa Mehta on Feb 10, 2016 03:34 PM  | Hide replies

Absolutely ,no need to press alarm button .

It happens sometimes , even a strong team loses to a weak one .

Team India will surely bounce back strongly & will win 2-1 .

No need to change anyone in the team , same team will win WC for us OR at least
reach the finals .

Just wait & watch , have some patience .

Damage has already been done.

There is no point in winning the series 2-1 against this amateur Shri Lankan team, which is by far their weakest team over the years, with all their senior & veteran players are either retired or injured ( Matthews, Dilshan, Malinga, Herath etc.)

So, if we win anything less than 3-0 against them, then it's like consolation in the end.

Yesterdays defeat was like :

Roger Federer playing versus Yuki Bhambri or Somdev Devvarman on Centre Court of Wimbledon and ends up losing in straight sets.

Loss factors
by Guru RamRahimDsuza on Feb 10, 2016 02:43 PM  | Hide replies

Ajinkya Rahane- Not a T20 player (at least not in middle order)

Shikhar Dhawan- Can't score more than 20 runs

Yuvraj Singh- Past his prime (may cause another early exit from WC T20 for India)

Raina- Can bat on flat tracks only

Jadeja- Can't hit the ball

and finally MSD- Please retire gracefully

You may bounce back
by Mike Teflon on Feb 10, 2016 02:39 PM  | Hide replies

Mr. MSD. You may actually end up defeating Sri Lanka in the final scoreline.

But, learn to accept a defeat with all the grace in the world. Your excuses are projecting the entire country in poor light. It's quite obvious, pressure is telling on you..

Even one loss in the 3 games is like a series loss for us because we are playing with our full potential & they are playing with amateur side with all their senior players either retired or injured.

It was like a contest between :-

Australia Vs Zimbabwe in Australia

But Australia will never lose against Zimbabwe so pathetically, the way we lost to Srilanka yesterday.

We must play on such pitches if we want to be true champions
by Hindustani on Feb 10, 2016 01:08 PM  | Hide replies

Dhoni always have someone or something to blame or excuse for the failure.

This time it was pitch.

What was the problem if the wicket was so called ENGLISH ?

How Sri Lankan players are accustomed to play on that then?

Before the match, Dhoni was praising his batting line up that how it bats deep & how experienced his batsmen are & how the batting line up has depth & bats till no.8.

Ironically, as it turned out to be, Ashwin the no.8 scored the maximum no. of runs in the entire batting line up.

What is the greatness of Indian batting line up if they are going to display their SO CALLED great performances with the bat & pile on the mountains of runs & creates the personal milestones ON BATTING FRIENDLY PLACID OR PATA PITCHES WITH NO GRASS, NO SWING OR BOUNCE ?
Australian pitches, this time uncharacteristically, were batting paradise with TRUE & EVEN BOUNCE, WITH NO SWING OR PACE where Indian batsmen just had to play on the front-foot, which they are used to on Indian pitches for years, as the bounce was even true but the moment they got even slight tinge of grass on the surface & bowl started to do the talking with uneven bounce & movement after it pitched started to hurried on to the batsmen, our PAPER TIGERS completely surrendered as they were absolutely clueless about how to go at it, they were caught in two minds whether to play on front or back & many times beaten for pace as the bowl was skidding on the pitch & hurried on

on to them resulting in the top edges.
The credit must go to Shri Lankan bowlers who showed the gutsy performance even in the absence of their ALL EXPERINCED PLAYERS. Their LINE & LENGTH was impeccable.

But having said that, Dhoni & Indian Cricket Board must STOP THIS BLAME GAME ON PITCHES ONCE FOR ALL if they want to become REAL CHAMPIONS or a strong force to recon with in world cricket.

You just can't give excuses each & every time for your failures & in no way on pitches. Some months ago Shastri was blaming Wankhede curator Sudhir Naik for the bad pitch & the loss of the game.

Now Dhoni is blaming this pitch, in fact we must prepare and encourage more & more such pitches rather than the PATA and TURNING PITCHES to prepare our batsmen how to play on such tracks which has been our LONG & INHERITED WEAKNESS & a major contributor to our failures in the past.
Instead of admitting to their catastrophic batting performance Dhoni & Co. always gives excuses for the failure which is REALLY hampering Indian Cricket in the long term.

Dhoni should LEARN SOMETHING FROM THE BEST BATSMAN IN THE WORLD A.B. DEVILIERS, WHO NOT ONCE HAD BLAMED INDIAN PITCHES FOR HIS FAILURES WHEN SA TOURED INDIA RECENTLY, INSTEAD HE ADMITTED HIS WEAKNESS IN BATTING ON SUCH TURNING PITCHES.

To Shilpa Mehta and Sunil
by Guru RamRahimDsuza on Feb 10, 2016 01:08 PM

I had said earlier to that Yuvi-Raina-Dhoni if this three plays together India are bound to struggle against quality attacks on seaming/spinning conditions. They got away in Australia when they played on flat tracks against Aus-C team. But Even SL-D team is enough for Dhoni's team on bowler friendly wickets.
