They remain unsold not because of their capabilities but because of the restriction on the number of foreign players in playing 11. These foreign player would not be fitting into the teams that have more number of players.

This is the real answer. Take example of Jorge Baily. He played earlier version of IPL, very popular but his scoring rate was below par if you compare with recent games against India in Australia. If you play in India, one must know how quickly you make runs on turning wickets. Negi is overpriced and lucky to be rated so highly. Perhaps whims of franchise. Yuvraj singh is a player to watch. If he clicks, he stays in cricket circle otherwise his career will finish as cricketer.

Foreign players are on demand for FIRST three/four spots and one/two speed bowlers. Remaining 4/5 to 9-10 Indian players are preferred - May be cause for lesser demand for foreign players.
This is actually a classy case of inexperience in field of business and cricket. The writer is completely wrong. The only reason why foreign players are unsold and lot of money is spent on Indian uncapped players is their is rule of playing max 4 foreign players in the playing XI. So obviously one has to spend more on indian uncapped players rather than on high profile foreign players

Add to that this guys can not play spin and may not be available for the whole season.
