The timing of this article seems to be late by just a decade.

You can't blame Vinod Kambli

Every Individual will Not have the same Potential as that of his colleagues or competitors - Sachin, Sourav, Dravid, Laxman & Sehwag had Really Good Talent and also had BCCI backing whenever they were Out of form as well.

Yes the Fab Five were Definitely Contributing with The Bat & also with Ball if required.

Maybe Sachin, Sourav, Dravid, Laxman had Contacts with The BCCI Top Brass as well, (In those days Match Fixing was rampant).

And Indians are The World's Most Regional, Casteist & Racist in their behaviour. So they could have also conspired to Nip Vinod Kambli's career in the bud.

It has happened to many Cricket Players in the past and it is not a new phenomenon.

Same type of rivalry also exists in Family members, cousins and siblings. If they are not upto the mark, then they will get pecked by others.

I believe we need to Respect Vinod Kambli for whatever he did in his short Indian team career, and not complain about his Caste or any other Personal things which none of us have control over.

In sports, talent without hard work will take you nowhere. Kambli had the talent but there was a question on his temperament or desire to excel.
He threw the towel on his career very easily and didn't strive as hard as Sourav did after been dropped from the team.Vinod was given a lifeline by Sachin when he was the captain but his performance let him down. So,don't just blame anyone ,there were many talented cricketers before & after Kambli who couldn't play for the country, despite been talented due to various reasons.

To Kumar
Very well said. Kambli got carried away with Stardom life. Lost focus. He was very talented but not serious. Talent is nothing in front of Hard Work and dedication. There are lots of average players in cricket who achieved success and played for their respective countries for a longer time. Just they were focused and dedicated to the game. Like Steve Waugh, Anil Kumble, Stephen Fleming, Jack kallis and so many. These players were not born with talent but achieved huge in cricket. Kambli has to blame himself only for his short career.

Why rake up a controversary, when Vinod Kambli himself has not bothered about being included in the Indian team for the last 23 years ?

Vinod Kambli

Vinod Kambli, though has good average record, has failed during world cup. He himself neglected his cricket career and started acting in TV shows. VVS has promptly took the advantage and fixed his position in the team and his performance never allowed to take his position.
