which bowler has most wickets after 43 tests warne kumble walsh akram shoaib ????answer is no it is ashwin and according to u bowling standard have come down ....hats off to ur knowledge....Now u will say ashwin is a bowler of indian pitches or batsmanship is poor abd amla warner smith williamson taylor macullum etc are pathetic batsman I am following cricket since 87 have seen all the only difference is players now work hard on game and fitness and are more determined...Now a days audience is not neutral and gets irritated and start arguing...Tendulkar and Virat played 2011 wc why india lost only those matches where god scored tons one of that match zak saved to tie discuss on facts now u will say that players didnot contribute than hpw india won when yuvi virat sehwag scored centuries in same wc with same team..these players are better and much fitter never seen an indian quick breaking the stump in two halves in indian track that to of a batsman who have scored more than 11000 test runs it is determination of these players....
Its so good to hear about other sports also from mouth of Gavaskar. True sportsman. He was the real first great batsman for India whom whole world respected. Apart from hockey and boxing even the vistory of PV Sindhu over Marin Sanchez in superseries was great achievement and she reached semis. Although lost in hard fought semifinal but still great achievement.
Does anyone still remembers Tendulkar apart from those selfish 100s he scored? We have found so much of result oriented new talent and dont stick to their personal records.

Those times were different and statistics and other analysis also proved that Tendulkar was brilliant. So lets not insult our great for no reason. He was on 194 when inning was declared in pakistan. India finished the match with two hours left. Here also it was no sense to declare Nair been on 280 and for sake of 5-6 extra overs. Point is if batsman scores he scores it benefits team. Tomr if root hit 100 to draw match it would be great inning to draw match not selfish inning.

Correct Tendulkar scored 51 odi tons out of which india won 33 matches and out of these 33 tons 15 were against minnows like kenya uae bangladesh of yester years zimbawae so in 421 odd odi tendulkar scored 18 match winning tons against competant sides compare it with virat who has 25 tons out of which 23 are winning knocks and only 4 tons are against zimbawae and bangladesh and bangladesh is no longer a minnow in 170 odd odi virat played 22 match winning tons while ppl call god who failed to do it in 421 odd odi....

Virat Kohli has not faced - Glenn Mc Grath, Shane Warne, Allan Donald, Shaun Pollock, Waqar Younis, Wasim Akram, Shaoib Akhtar, Saqlain Mushtaq, Shane Bond, Chris Cairns, Courtney Walsh, Curtly Ambrose, etc etc to name a few.
Even Foreign teams faced Ordinary Indian Bowling during the 1990 - 2013 Indian Bowlers and Many of them Scored Heavily against us on All types os wickets. Yet the Rest of The World Batmen could not Surpass Sachin's achievements and records till date.
Sachin was a Record Breaker and for His Generation of Cricketers he was The Best at that point of Cricketing History !!
Virat Kohli is definitely one of The Modern Greats - But he is several Light Years behind Sachin in Test Cricket which is The Purest Form of Cricket (ODI's, T20's & Puny IPL Matches are not for Judging a Cricketer's capacity or ability). Ask anyone around The Globe - They will agree if they know Cricket in reality.

@avishwas n rat nam, 1.Sachin never made any century against uae. 2. He made 10 centuries against minnows out of which zim was a good team in late 90's. 3.Sachin made 9 centuries against aus- worlds best bowling attack. 4. Sachin made 5 centuries against brilliant bowling attack of SA, Pak n NZ. 5. The bowlers Sachin played are a dream now. If u think current spinners are as good as warne or murli, if u think that current bowlers are as deadly as donald, akram, akhtar, yunus, mcgrath, walsh, bond etc thn it shows ur cricketing knowlrdge. 6. As far as useless n selfish centuries are concerned , there are atleast 10 matches in which any other batsman didnt score even a half century whn Sachin made a century.
7. hd Sachin played against bowlers n pitches , virat faced, Sachin hd made atleast 150 tons n 40000 international runs. Virat is lucky that he is nt facing the bowlers Sachin faced...
Sachin greatness lies in this fact that u r discussing him whn Nair played agreat knock... Thats greatness of SACHIN...

U mean malinga dale steyn morkel mohd amir wahab riyaz saeed ajmal sunil narine sakib al hasan mutifizur trent bolt mitchel starc pat cummins are all pathetic bowlers....and correction virat has 26 tons and india has lost only 2 how many tons have virat scored against australia???India has won all those matches but I remember one famous tendulkar ton on sarjah where india lost the match...Virat is modern great and miles ahead of tendulkar with all due respect and this is great thing tendulkar too was miles ahead of gavaskar....

@ avishwas, If md amir is better thn akram, mcfrath or walsh... if sakib is better spinner thn warne or murli thn i REALLY pity ur cricketing knowledge....
its nt abt pathetic, its abt comparisions... i never wrote that Virat is pathetic bt the bowlers he is playing are nowhr close to the names I mentioned...
Nw I tell u why India lost a few matches despite Sachin's ton. It ws bcz no other supported, whras during Virat time other batsman also score n here r a few examples of SACHIN famous tons most of which he made OVERSEAS...
114 in perth whn team ws 159/8 against aus.346
169 in SA whn team ws 58/5 against SA 529 in first innings
154 in aus whn aus made 463 in first innings n India ws 185/3
146 in SA whn team ws 247/6 against SA 362
116 in aus whnteam ws 31/3 aginst aus 405, next high score ws 31 by ganguly
111 in SA whn team ws trailing by 484 runs
111 in SA whn team ws 127/6, next highest score ws 25 by Kapil
119 in Eng whn target ws 408 n team ws 183/6
122 in Eng whn team ws 68/5 and trailing by 99 runs, next high score ws 18 by manjrekar
155 in SA whn team ws 68/4
177 in Eng whn team ws 33/2
175 vs aus target 351, remaining 10 selfless 172
136 vs pak target 271, remaining 10 selfless 122
no doubt Virat is brilliant bt he ws a big flop in England, SL n WI whr SACHIN never flopped :)

mr politician no point in debating i never said sachin was not good I only said Virat is even better best chaser quality of bowlers which gavaskar faced was far better than tendulkar and even tendulkar contemporary kallis faced them and his test record is better than tendulkar...tendulkar was a legend so was gavaskar so was kapil and so is virat...all four generations and every generation has improved the game from erstwhile like sachin was good in odi but was not a good finisher virat is good in all three formats and best finisher even as good as the name which u use....two best finishers of the game for india virat and dhoni....
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Tendulkar remember??

24 years none of these bowlers was name as well and murali action was dubious noone imagined he will take 800 scalps u never know someone will break his record....But Virat will definately break tendulkar record even little master recoginizes this fact and went all the way to wankhade to see the best finisher scores another chasing ton....

ok out of these greats which bowler has maximum wickets after 43 tests warne kumble murali???Why correct answer is ashwin bowling has come down now u will say he bowls in india or quality of batting is pathetic abd amla dekock warner smith root cook williamson are pathetic batsman pls explain why india lost those matxhes in 2011 wc when tendulkar scored tons one match zak saved to tie however the same team won when yuvi virat orr viru scored tons....Now standards have improved players work hard on game and fitness and are better than previous generation....

Re: Tendulkar remember??

136 he scored was selfish where he single-handedly took india to almost victory to be ruined by other 5 players who can't score 17 runs. He thrashed Shane Warne the best leg-spinner world has produced and scored 100's in India and Sharjaha - so selfish. Scored 168 in headingly which india won by inning against england. scored in SA 150 which India win and drew the series there. in 2008 he scored century in final in australia. first time india winning triangular series there. All his centuries in Sydney. Please check stats his more than 50% 100s resulted in win. VVS does that twice-thrice you glorify that. That way dravid was very selfish, he always took whole day to score 100, playing for draws, right.

Boss that is the case Tendulkar with all due respect was not good on finishing like virat is good in seeing it through a modern master has certainly taken a step ahead of bygone great thats good for indian cricket even tendulkar was miles ahead of erstwhile generation great gavaskar that how it goes ....
Vishwanath is from Karnataka, a Vishwanathan is from TN/Kerala. We still hear some people call Narasimha Rao as Narsing Rao ! Though not disrespectful, one should not mess up with names. It is a different matter that one can't digest the fact that Narasimha Rao succeed so well. One senses condescending attitudes arising of sheer envy and jealousy
Gundappa Vishwanath - strange to hear Gavaskar call his brother-in-law Gundappa, which must be his surname. He was always known as Vishwanath. His square luts and late cuts were outstanding. No one dared bowl outside the off-stump to him !
Forget these there are players like Gurkertat mann, rishab pant Aiyerr from Bbay and Chaterjee from Bengal...So stil lot of untried talent scores on flat tracks will count little in the long run..

another self-styled critic. Mathew hayden hit triple century against ZIM but still it is 300 in test. Here the wicket was not so easy to score. Give credit to young man. What will happen in future is different, but this was great inning no doubt. tomr when england will be struggling you will say ashwin can only be sucessful on spining track.
