by Parthasarathy Krishna on Apr 19, 2016 09:12 AM

It certainly not sport revival!! It's purely commercial! It gives employment to lot of cricketers in india who don't make much money? Gives to lot of foreign players income?

This drought situation was well known. What authorities and HC Judge were doing? I am not a fan of IPL but every activity should be stopped. Why should private authorities pay the price of negligence of government and court. This is simply arrogance of the government.who wants to be businessman in this country? You really do not know what to expect next.It is a confused country. Contract has no value.

Did the Englishmen play during World wars
by on Apr 16, 2016 04:14 PM

Ask the Englishmen the inventors of the game whether they played matches during the world wars and also during their natural calamities like the great plague in England.Imitation is good but too much imitation of our English masters is bad.The commercial aspect comes later peoples sentiments comes first. The corporate houses out there to mint money in the name of IPL should find out ways and means to lessen hardship of the people as because they are also the part of the society.

Few questions to the writer. How dare you compare IPL to greatest leagues around the world? If so answer these questions?

1. How is the IPL a league when teams after playing 14 matches have still to win a semi-final and final to be declared a champion? In what league you have a semi-final or final.

2. How can I support a team when almost half of the team changes every two years. Have a transfer system like the European leagues or even our own Indian AIFF. If you auction players every year do you believe I will support a team always.

3. Where are your stadiums? You all use the BCCI stadiums. Cant you build your own stadiums like the English teams have.

4. And where are teams? Do you know how many tiers of teams are there in football in India and also European leagues. Teams come from grassroots too. Here only the 8 corporates are allowed to earn money. Why cant a small team from Shillong be allowed to play in Tier-II or Tier-III of IPL.
