move on...its just a game and the best team won. Important question:
1. Will Indian team improving the ageing Bowling team?
2. How will these ageing bowlers perform in the IPL?

T 20 MATCH

It is very high time to sack MSD from all formats of cricket. Bharath lost the match just becoz of MSD, nobody else are responsible for the debacle. We are not playing on this pitch for the first time? when the pitch the flat and when the ball frequently gets wet how do you expect the spinners to show their performance? why don't you exclude Jadeja or Ashwin and take the top performer Mr. Mohd. Shami? Politics... If you allow Shami inside the team the veteran Nehra will loose the place in the team forever. How many more number of opportunities should be given to out-of-form Raina? If you observe keenly, the same Raina will perform excellently in the coming IPL but never plays a single match winning innings for India in his life time. Still we have to place him in final 11. Why only Kohli should play? what about other players? At least now the selection committee should realize the truth and sack-off MSD and his four non-performing "dear" friends. There are lot many perfect talented players are waiting outside.

chill buddy! The defeat in semi finals was purely a defeat due to toss- two great teams played great cricket- in an evenly matched game like it was, winning the toss was almost as important as playing great cricket- both played great but the team winning the toss ultimately won due to the due factor. Hats off to one of the greatest captain India has known!

Well said. Australia was in the semis. Almost. But "due" factor played spoil sport. Afghanistan already defeated WI so can consider they won the tournament. Excellent.

Plz sir let MSD play for a while. After the whirl of India cement, its remarkable for him to play and lead such a team to bring up to this level. His guts and courage to risk the last ball against BANG qualify to stay for some years. Let's reconsider the likes of rohit, Dhawan, Raina ,Yuvi etc to remain in the team. Pros and cons of IPL cannot be avoided altogether . If we gain something we must prepare to lose something at the gains of Simmons etc.

Is cricket even an issue in India?
by sridhar nanagiri on Apr 01, 2016 12:10 PM  | Hide replies

For a nation where large part of its people live in extreme poverty. In fact modern slavery, how does cricket becomes national talk? It is a game played by millionaires for billionaire cricket body. The real issue for India is massive unemployment, uncontrollable population, heath care, deteriorating urban cities...

Cricket is our obsession and it gives us hope during bleak times, and for this, our cricketers are role models. The rags to riches stories of many of the players inspire a billion, and they will forever be champs in our eyes. Let the government take care of pverty and hunger, and the players should be left to play

Cricket is like a circus
by sridhar nanagiri on Apr 01, 2016 12:06 PM  | Hide replies

As Justice Katju explained beautifully during French revolutions, the lords, emperors and feudal could not give public bread and butter, so king told his men that give them circus. By this way you will distract their mind into meaningless issues like performance of cricket team. First it is not even an Indian team but BCCI team which runs and operate like corporate and their only aim is to earn profits and extend their empire. Second these players are getting millions via IPL, sponsorship. When you mix sports with money, it does affect their focus. With nationalism they are invoking people sentiment. Similarly just like the word jssihad word was invoked during afghan struggle using religion and many fooolllls fell into this trap. What is the real issue of India? Massive unemployment, poverty, malnutrition, rising inflation, hunger, third world standard living.. I don't want to fall into 90% category.. For a nation whose main issue is poverty and massive poverty the focus should be only and only on nation building and taking steps to reduce inflation. India they do that, then it is worth dancing on roads with joy not for this circus with already billionaire players and corrupt and arrogant BCCI

Complete lack of sense in that statement. 99 pc of our billion people love our team to bits, and they are absolute champs. Jus because they had one unlucky day dosent change anything. They are heroes and role models in our eyes. Whole of India was tuned in the last two weeks, and shall continue to do so. Except a small number of pessimists. As for hunger and poverty, its the governments job to take care. The cricketers and the board are not corrupt, they are infact offering an avenue for talented young men to make a great living out of cricket. Its the corrupt government to blame. And read the stories of pandya and jadeja, who rose with nothing to become heroes today. They inspire young kids everywhere. Chill and enjoy the game.

Close your office too. And the markets and cinemas and schools. No circuses needed. Eh?
