Apply it for run outs too

If catching in air is fine, cross the line by batsmen without having their foot or bat on the ground should also be fine. After all, if you cross the line you are IN. Why should we have double standards - one rule for fielding and another for run outs???

Then bowlers should get a stick and helmet and pads too. :-)

First, learn to play good cricket consistently Glenn!

Why is he crying foul? Rules can't be framed to suit the whims and fancies of each and every individual. Had he been the other side, would his reaction be the same? First, let him learn to play consistent good cricket rather than playing once in a blue moon. He's after all, a bits and pieces player and neither a complete batsman nor a complete bowler. Aussies are known for their foul behaviour when the going gets tough! Barring Steven Smith, there's no other Aussie player who is consistent. Their downfall is just around the corner and we'll get to see/hear many more such foul cries and bad behaviour from the frustrated Aussies in future.

Dude, do you even bother to read? Or just venting your frustration is all you know?
Maxwell is slamming the rule that allowed his own catch. He IS supporting Plunkett who is on the other side. Open your eyes AND brain.
And stop YOUR foul behavior.
